That will only ever be a dream. As much as love their games, they were not selling and I noticed people only talk about them more now, but most never cared to support them
They are not. Are people seriously not even reading the article? They are releasing 6 by 2025 if I am not mistaken and delaying the rest to ensure quality, if anything they are spending more time on them and figuring out the best time to release them later.
Read the article. They are not turning away from them and there was no truth to the rumors. They plan to release six and delay the rest to ensure quality. Saying they are turning away when they are just delaying the games to achieve quality that can satisfy gamers, as they stated is just lying to yourself
GoW was a cross gen game with PS4/PS5
I have no idea why people are always comparing Naughty Dog to Insomniac. Making such a comparison shows you don't know much the studios. Insomniac even before acquired by Sony had two different studios in two different locations, so I have no idea this need to compare the output of a studio with 1 location and a studio with 2 separate locations, that more than like gets more resources. Don't see anyone crying about Sucker Punch
Seriously, you level of copium is getting depressing. Microsoft has laid off the most number of people. Hell the biggest came during the Activision acquisition, were they laid off 10K+ people. Don't recall you or your ilk say this isn't the right move for Xbox to laying off so many people.
I personally don't want any other publishers to be acquired, but if Sony was as desperate as Microsoft, they can buy Take 2, Square, Capcom, Sega or even EA. The best thing a...
@DivineHand125
Not really sure why. They could have found a cheaper person or they couldn't agree with something. At the end of the day, I can't say what is going on, and these lay offs across the industry is becoming alarming. Also, if am not mistaken, didn't both Bungie/343 have issues with the guys that made the soundtrack to their games?
Could depend on who they are laying off. If memory serves me right, they went on a hiring spree when Sony acquired them
@Lightning77
Delays could literally be for anything, they can lay off 10 people and delay the game, hell, they can hire more people and still delay the game. Bungie specifically if I am not mistaken went on a hiring spree not too long ago. There have been a lot of lay offs across the industry. Epic, Sony, EA, Ubisoft, Blizzard and Microsoft have all had lay offs, as I mentioned before, with Microsoft laying off by far the most. There is a reason some specific group of fanbo...
You people live in some made-up bubble. Should we assume there is huge dysfunction at MS since they have laid off the most people? They recently also laid off close to 700 people at LinkedIn and very few even care, yet let Sony lay off 10-20 people, compared to Microsoft's 10,000+, and people like you want everyone to just focus on Sony, and not they one laying off the most amount
@Foxtrot
Don't worry snowflake, I don't get triggered over Gaas. Not all games have to appeal to me and if they do well, then good it will have it's audience and I can keep enjoying the games that I want, without getting my feelings hurt over the 10-12 games they have invested in. Who knows, my friends and I might actually like one of those games and I am all for them being successful
And don't worry, I call out stupidity and ignorance wh...
They haven't, at best it's two people, with Jim retiring. Microsoft if I am not mistaken have also lost two people, yet you never hear that same narrative.
You people are truly beyond stupid and make-up some of the dumbest narratives to sleep better at night. Jim literally lead PS to breaking records and you think investors would look at that and say fire this guy? Also, all the investments they are doing in GAAS isn't going anywhere. They might cancel one or two, but to think they would invest possibly 100s of millions into games and just cut those off is a stupid thing and not based in reality.
Jim is also leaving Plays...
Xbox's revenues did not meet the 4.4% growth target, instead only growing by 0.7%.
That isn't good, but hey, wish I could change how my compensation is given out. I fear if Activision doesn't help drive growth, as much as they want, MS would use that as a reason to buy more companies and claim they need to compete. If the so called "best deal in gaming" only grew 0.7% in a year that was viewed as one of Xbox's best years, then you might have a bit...
@Plague-Doctor27
Total number of employees is misleading and an estimate at best, most of those are taken from LinkedIn, which only keeps track of those who register. For example, I work for one of the biggest organizations in the world, and if you check our LinkedIn it's about 300+, but I know for a fact, that is on the lower end, especially with close to 70 locations around the world. I always find it odd some people can't seem to accept the fact that Insomniac ha...
Well, it makes sense when you actually find out Insomniac has two separate studios (one in California and the other in North Carolina) compared to those others studios having just 1. So comparing their output, when Insomniac has more studios is beyond unrealistic
Let's be honest, it's the PC community that will keep this game going not the Xbox community. I am personally surprised it not just has a lower rating on steam, but the player count is also far lower than what a game of the generation is supposed to be.
@Stanjara
Literally everyone raised prices. I remember how you some people were crying when Sony increased their prices, yet went into silent mode when Microsoft did it, even after saying they wouldn't. Also i noticed you left out the fact that he also deceased the price of the PS5, but I am guessing that part doesn't fit the narrative you are desperate to push. Never liked or hated Jim, but the amount of false narrative you and your ilk make up to coup with reality...
Seriously, you guys live in some made-up world. Jim has been with Playstation for about 30 years and has lead PS to record breaking profits and you have somehow lied to yourself that he is being pushed out? The guy is leaving around the same time as the last 3-4 guys before him. It's like when reality doesn't fit the narrative you want, you make your own
@crazyCoconuts
It's a good plan if you release good games. Also, this is the same strategy Sony used for their Single player games during the PS3/PS4 era. Where they invest in a lot of games, but only a small percentage become successful. Sony isn't expecting all live service games to be successful, but they can expected a small percentage, 1 or 2 to be successful. That is how you do things, not one or two and stop when those two fail.
Why are so...
