If you look at the specs and what the PS3 is being advertised as then you are both correct, it is primarily a Blu-ray player and a games console.

Instead of banning them, every 360 game should come with an activation code.
When that code is activated that game cannot be played on any other 360 console. That'll mean friends cannot lend games but that is just tought titty to be honest.
