A longer game, doesn't quite mean it's quality is high. I prefer quality games, that may be a good length.. over lengthy games, that are poorly done.

If you want the best setup for your class. You have to mix a lot of pieces together, to get the best match. It will take some time.

If you're signed in prior to the start of the maintenance period, you can play through maintenance, as your data is already catched.
That's how Sony operate on -most- of their maintenance, hence nobody really notices it.. until something goes wrong.

If you're a paying consumer, do you not want the best servers/services available? Why on earth do you think they do maintenance? To purposely annoy consumers?
If they did nothing, and issues arouse.. you'd complain with the same crap.
If they do something, you complain. What's worse.. all you need to do is sign in an hr or few before, and you can continue enjoying it like nothing is happening.
