Yeah it doesn't make much sense to me for those same reasons. I can get how a Zelda hack n' slash can work with Zelda like Hyrule Warriors did but not a Dark Souls like game.

Great article. Sonic is very much a product of its own time really isn't it. I don't think anyone can create a new Sonic game that would have the impact they did back then.
In saying that though Sonic Generations was a good game minus the 3d levels. Sonic Ep 4 less so. They just didn't nail the movement at all. The jump was so floaty.

Meh, I'm ok with remasters. Not everyone has played all these games so if re-mastering allows people with newer consoles to experience some old games they missed the first time around then that's a good thing.
Yeah the MegaCD was ok. But it was way too expensive when it came out way back when.
Vey was a great RPG that isn't mentioned in the article. I'd recommend that if you like turn based JRPG's.
I'd say apart from the 3DS its just gone out of fashion.
I like them, but I will admit that the biggest problem with them is when you become overpowered and just end up button mashing the same button for attack.
Xenoblade Chronicles is a great example of a modernised turn based mechanic.

And bite off the hand that feeds? That doesn't make good business sense. Shipping unfinished games doesn't either but they would have made earnings from pre-orders anyways and can always patch later.

The soundtrack for that PS Road Rash game is probably one of the best examples of a game using bands from the same era to create a great soundtrack.
Right up there with Wipeout and Tony Hawk 1.

Single player games just don't need it. Whenever I play any Ubi game I usually disconnect my system from the internet because of uPlay bullshit. An unnecessary feature for the user. Its more for Ubi to gain market research.
Agreed. RDR was the death of it for me. After that I couldn't tolerate it much.

Yah the decision is motivated by greed and its a cruel business decision for us all but if they have no passion in video games then meh, I don't want their games.
I'd take 2-3 new studio's coming out of Konami than just Konami being Konami any day of the week.
