I didn't play any FF's after IX. The start of FFXII had an atrocious pop song intro as well (a mate showed me that intro once).
I don't really remember the Garnet song in FFIX...the mus...
I liked FFVIII but this was the first FF to have cheesy pop songs in it that I try to block out of my mind.
Ruins the tone of the game when this cheesy crap comes on.
I reckon Resident Evil should never have had a lore in the first place. It would've been better if each RE game had its own standalone story that was unconnected to the other games.
The setting should also be confined like the first being in a mansion or like revelations being confined to a ship. It was being trapped in this small space surrounded by zombies and what have you that really gave it more tension and induced fear.

Couldn't agree more. I'm playing though it now and focusing solely on main missions which for the most part are really good.
It is a poor mans GTA in terms of overall quality though. Watch Dogs 2 should be a really interesting improvement.
Yeah I kind of agree with you. There's some good games there that I would like (Forza Horizon 2, Shadow of Mordor) but nothing that is day one purchase material.

Have to say I enjoyed Far Cry Blood Dragon more than Far Cry 3. The narrower scope was much more enjoyable.

If you're solely talking multiplayer COD3 would be at the top of my list.
Reason:
- The game gives everyone the same equipment, no leveling (no one plays ranked matches anymore)
- Its got great levels
- Doesn't get many kids on there, usually an older crowd
- WWII weapons are boss
