Hopefully it gets the sales it deserves. Coming out this time of year with a bunch of big names hurts some of the lesser known great games.
Don't forget, 30 hours for 1 play through, and not everyone gets max level playing through. I remember reading I think 1 dev was saying he got to 35 after the first play through. Also, there are 4 characters to choose from and 130 side quests total (don't think everyone will do all of them in 1 play through).
Borderlands in a FPS with RPG elements. Fallout 3 was an RPG with FPS elements. Picking up Borderlands when it comes out, should be a fun game. Love the co-op style of it.
The trailers / videos (not live videos of people playing) only showed the starting area, not the whole damn game. They did mention there will be other settings than just the starting area. And the ai for the enemies will get harder as you go, so it won't be a run and gun game. They'll use smart tactics later in the game and flank you.
If you read about the game, on their forums, they mentioned that the starting area is a starting area. The enemies aren't gonna destroy you right as you step into the game. But over time, they'll use tactics and flank you, so you won't be just able to run and gun / button mash / roll your face on the keyboard the whole time and win.
Also, don't see why people disagreed with Soda above, that's true for most games. The enemy starts off easy and gets harder the further you get in....
Yep, too many major releases coming out. I guess it'll be AAA material when it comes out without any competition.
The game looks good, can't wait till it comes out next week.

DLC that is announced and priced a week before the game comes out should be free or not $10. If they announced it a bit after the game was released, then people wouldn't have a problem. Announcing before the game even comes out is pretty annoying to those that are going get the game, since it looks like the dev is screwing them out of content that could have been in the game easily, but they just wanted to make a quick buck.
When sequels to games come out, people expect similar features / gameplay from the previous versions. Except with more features / better graphics. You take what made the previous version great, and expand upon it. So its not like people didn't expect campaign co-op at first since they enjoyed it in the first one.
If people still buy it at the increased price, they won't care. Only way they'd care is if no one would buy it at all, which you know won't happen since many will cave in and get it.
I haven't had any real lag at all. The one annoying thing I've had has been the host leaving and the game somewhat resetting when migrating to a new host (several times I ha in groups of 3 people then host drops...).
Curious, has anyone noticed host migration affecting the cinema? I had on game wanted to look at that was like 10 min long, checked the file for it, and it was 50 seconds to when the host had left.
Too many good games out this month to buy everything / have the time to play them all. Waiting a little bit before I get it.
He did a great job as the voice actor of Cole for the first game, don't see why they'd change him. Hopefully Sullivan just gets the part of a different character.
I don't know, there was that one review from a Euro site that gave it a 7/10 :P
Gee, I guess I'll have to make up my mind when I head down tomorrow to pick up my copy that I pre-ordered a while ago...
Sales doesn't always mean quality. You can put a Halo label on a box of sh!t and people will buy it. Many great games have gone under the radar because of big name games that come out every year just about without any major improvements.
And back on topic, I hope Brutal Legend doesn't go overlooked as the style of the game is great. I'll end up getting it towards Christmas since I have a few too many games on my list in the near future as it is right now.
'And while you're watching this, they have a monster closet behind me open up, and one of those little dog guys jumps out and like just "Rrargh!" You jump and you turn around, like, "Oh sh!t! Oh sh!t!"'
Can't wait for this game to come out.
Games that are punishing make you feel more rewarded for killing the mobs or bosses than ones that hold your hand and let you kill things too easily. With Demon's Souls, you realize you're gonna die, and die a hell of a lot, but your masochist side will have you coming back for more since its an accomplishment to kill some of the normal mobs or bosses. The last prince of Persia game on the other hand, you could fall to your death over and over and the game would hold your hand and resurrect...
I love idiots that complain about not being able to pause the game and dieing. Either find a place that's away from enemies or go and exit the game. It saves all the time pretty much so if you exit the game, you'll be back near where you left off.
Can't wait to pick it up, looks amazing. Funny how the low score that the article mentioned was because the reviewer thought the game was too difficult. I love games that give a challenge to the player, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something as opposed to other games where you can button mash and kill everything easily.
It could be 17 if you don't do like any side quests. But there's like 130 so it'd take a lot longer if you want to finish everything.
