Entire isles of shovelware costing 10-30 bucks at every target/walmart is probably why it has any attachrate whatsoever. I would say most people buy the wii to play wii sports and some other similar games and have little interest beyond those titles (or similar titles)
The failure of Haze had nothing to do with the system it was released on. It had to do with it being a mediocre game at best.
4 hours after this was posted, the blog has the official list. I stand by my original comment.
So every week we get the 'rumored store update' post. Which comes about 2-3 hours before the authentic store update from the playstation blog. Why bother with the rumor post?
As a MMO designer (a small indy one, but one just the same). I dont see a non subscription model doing so well. MMO's require much much more in the way of administration than a standard online multiplayer game with dedicated servers. You have support to deal with (gamemasters, program support, server maint., etc) on top of that the most important difference, MMO's typically offer constant improvments and content additions. Doing all that for a flat one time fee is just not realistic. Although...
A comparison with crappy video quality is useless.
I have the year subscription to Qore and I have to say its nice, but i wish they would put in beta invites the month that the beta is ready, not several months before. We got a socom invite in June but will have to a few months to even get into the beta. Now we get a Resistance 2 beta invite but have to wait 1-2 months to use it? Cool but they need to adjust the timing of this stuff. If the beta starts in September, make the September Qore have the beta invite...
People are making such a big deal of this 'year old port of a 360 game'. Look, I have a ps3, the game is coming out now. Is it good? If so, i'll get it. Does a year later make it not as good or something?
i'll remember to feel bad for them if i ever stop laughing at them.
I agree with the sub's. I have a netflix account and was really hoping both systems would eventually be able to stream the instant videos. Now on my ps3, i'm left with paying (in addition to my netflix account) for a video if i want to rent it, which doesnt really work for me. If Sony allowed me to just subscribe, i might get rid of my netflix account and just use their service.
As far as buying content, I wouldnt do it on either system because it's restricted to those systems...
Correct, they have not yet made trophies mandatory.
Also @lovedaddy, I dont believe they have set any specific date to make them mandatory, if you have some proof of that, please provide a link. January 1st 09 is just an assumed date from random people on the internet.
only had time to play one round. But Hero is ballsout. The first time i was the hero, i felt like it was the first time ive played. I was all excited and killing everything i could see. so badass. Managed to solo the hero twice too! (Wasnt easy) :)
Everyone keeps assuming they are moving to a single SKU. My opinion is that they are keeping both SKU's except both will now have the same size (unless they bump up the current 80gb HDD). This would explain why the old 40gb is called the 'core'. Meaning the BC situation would be the same as it is today.
Insomniac isnt behind the PSP version. Bend is the name of the group making this one.
"Also, everyone was going into it expecting a huge surprise that would top the FF13 news"
Exactly right. Everyone expected Sony to at least attempt to top the FF13 news. However, there was nothing even remotly supprising announced. The fact that they didnt have any shocking announcement is why i think some people are dissapointed in Sony's E3 keynote.
I never understand the big worry about too many players. The more the better as far as i'm concerned. Whats wrong with mad chaos of a ton of players vs a ton of other players?
games > movies. Give me more games for my psp.
nips point so high it looks like a bad boob job, there supposed to aim forrward not straight up fellas!
The rules of how you can play warhawk changed with 2.40. When you look at the information of warhawk, it now says you can play it as long as the owners password is saved on the system. Previous to 2.40 it simply said the owner was the only person who could play it. This info was posted anywhere that talks about warhawk the day it changed. Still good info for anyone who didnt hear it a few weeks ago.
To add to that, I would say Between how awesome Burnout Paradise is, and how highly they are supporting their product makes me want to support whatever they're next project is going to be. Many dev's could take a page from their book.
