I still buy PS2 games only now I play them on my PS3. I gave the PS2 to my nephew.
In America the PS2 sold 866,210 software units & 54,608 Hardware units week ending 18th August 2007. I don't think Sony is in a hurry to discontinue the PS2 since the hardware they sell is probably now pure profit and the software is still selling quite well. Original Xbox on the other hand? Well.....;)
All in all Sony must be happy selling 155,000 (all hardware) units for that week

Anyone remember the first GT game? I couldn't believe how great it looked then. Amazing how far graphics have advanced since. Almost photorealism. How much further can they push the graphics envelope? Damn :)
Enjoy your lackluster HD-DVD sales Paramount. Transformers would have sold a ton on Blu ray. I can't wait to see how the Spielburg flicks sell on Blu compared to HD DVD.
