The PS3 is down 50% from the launch price here in the US so what do yu mean by 'only' in your comment?
It sounds like you're still paying more in Australia than in US...
It's not so much about 'destroying' the competition as keeping up their own revenues for business and stockholders sake. I agree a $100 price cut would have been great for the consumers but, from a business standpoint, it's probably unnecessary since they are making profit at the $249 price point.
One more bubble to go and then you will have reached official troll status. Congrats!
And yes, it's your opinion but when your opinion is so far off-base that it creeps into troll-ville, its time to start picking out your bridge...
I agree. I love my PS3 but I think if anyone else really wanted one, they would have already bought one and $299 wouldn't have stopped them.
Now the new $249 will make a difference only if it's marketed and advertised correctly to make the casual gamer, or parent buying for their kids, feel as if they are getting a good deal. It has to really sell the details of all they are getting for only $250.
I'll tell you what though. This will make me...
Bubble up+ on both comments, iamnsuperman. This new generation of gamers reminds me of what is currently wrong with our society in general where no one can be civil and tolerant towards other peoples choices and decisions.
It's not enough to just enjoy what you like and what you're doing. Now you have to put down what other people like or the things you aren't interested in. I blame the parents for all this 'positive reinforcement' on their young childr...
Now ain't your comment gonna look real silly if a 'dead' game beats out BF3 in sales? Don't get me wrong, I'm also looking forward to playing BF3 but MW's history proves that it's not down and out yet.
Where did that come from? I read the article twice and the only mention of PC, PS3, and 360 was that the game was shipping for all three at the end of October.
What the heck does your comment have to do with no offline co-op for Battlefield 3?
God, I hope not. We have been gaming with button-pressed hand-controllers for decades, and I don't see nothing wrong with it.
I respect your opinion so I'm not jumping on you on anything but how different do you expect the 3rd game in a series to look, especially if they're using the same engine and its being developed by the same developer.
I dont remember people complaining that much (if at all) about Gears of War or Mass Effect using the same engines over again. Those games also didn't seem have a graphical leap IMO but maybe I wasn't paying close attention.
I'm with you, Crimson. I have fun playing both BF and COD. Go figure...
The one thing that I will disagree with you on that I didn't think the story from either of the first two MW's were predictable at all. It caught me off guard when one of my characters died in the nuclear explosion in MW, and when the general killed another of my characters in MW2, along with a bunch of other plot 'twists'. It may not have been original as far as storylines go but it has me looking forward to seeing what happens in MW3.
But you were just st...
Bubble up+, Jokes.
I also cringed when he said that 'real gamer' bit cause I like to think of myself as a gamer but I never considered people 'sheep' for buying what they want to buy. There are plenty of games that I don't like but I would never diss someone else for liking them. That's some elitist crap right there.
It's trendy to hate whatever has mass appeal. I personally never understood the need to always comment on things you hate. If I did that, I wouldn't have time for anything else.
@ limewax
If it is a multiplayer killstreak, the devs should develop a counter to it...maybe something like a sensor strapped to your body that detonates enemy explosives (claymores, c4, bomb dogs) when you are a certain distance from it. That'd be cool :)
Explosive-strapped dogs is actually not so 'over the top'. They were used by the Russians during WWII.

Incidentally, there were also rumors about our own Navy training dolphins to go on kamikaze runs.

So you admit that something IS different :)
I agree with you on that, GametimeUK. I believe that they should introduce online and offline platinum trophies, and then maybe have a rhodium trophy if you get both platinums :)
@ blumatt
You gonna just keep copying and pasting this to every MW3 Spec Ops article they approve, ain't you?
Well, Survival Spec Ops wasn't but there were some levels where you would have waves of enemies coming at you but nothing like this were you have helicopters, dogs with bombs strapped to them, strike teams, etc.
Here you go:

Unless you were talking about regular multiplayer, and not co-op...
