One really, realy good point.

I got the game in the post yesterday, installed it while I went to make a cup of tea..... 20 mins later...done. Don't have to do it again.
At lest we have a hard drive to use.
Firstly Since when was Sony up for sale???
Last I heard, business was looking very good for them....its seems some reporters forget there is more to Sony that consoles...and even electronics for that matter. sony own one of the major Hollywood studios don't forget.

the problem here is MS don't want to give you the option to wait...their trying to shove Vista in your pie hole now.

If dev know whats good for their game, they'd better not force you to install anything over a Gig.
This will shorten the time the game will be on your system as when people run out of space for their new games, the old games that take up a large amount of space are the first things to go.

For all of MS's ups and downs at the moment, it still has windows and office which is its bread and butter.
So as long as MS has that larger part of the market, MS will be part of the news.

Think about all those Wii owners....when their more used to the idea of gaming. their going to think again about getting the more powerful machines.
And with games like little big planet, this should attract some of that crowd.
Big first day sales just add to the hype and encourages more sales.
it makes no difference if the game was sold on the 1st day or the 10th, they still get the money for it...but if it sell a lot on the first day, then it gets a reputation for being a popular game and there fore more people will look at it.
Why do you think shops have those charts of top 10 selling games???
Because people are sheep, and will buy what everyone else is buying because its popular.

Dodge, Rent, Buy or make a new religion around.
Independencies are important to the industry because it brings in new meat.
It mixes up new talent by giving new opportunities to people who might otherwise couldn't get in.
It also gives the freedom to do new thing and try new ideas with out another companies over looking everything and watching the budget rather than what your creating.
its all about being on the winning team....and what better way to do that than kicking'em while their down.
