I think I'm having flash backs.
Credit crunch may have something to do with it as well.
All in all I think GTA4 hasn't hurt the games industry but rather helped be reinforcing just how big the gaming industry is.
This is a game that (legally) shouldn't be sold to people under 18.
And yet, this game isn't just one of the biggest selling games, but one of the highest selling entertainment products including movies and music.
This has shown the people who own the media owners and the politicians just how big the population the gamers are and how big the market is....
And where is Echochrome on the UK store???
I hope I'm not going to have to wait a month like I did with pain.
Thats nuts.
Now that really is interactive entertainment.
Yes, but if EA hold all the licenses from the different sports then that stops anyone else from making the games.
I don't buy EA games, not because I want to boycott them...but rather because most of their games are crap.
The only game I can think of that I want to play and is under their title is Deadspace.
I CALL YOU! - Fighting Chicken with razors taped to its feet!
I always thought that keeping animals to fight is wrong.
It would only make sense that he would breed them...how many Pikachu do you think he would get through in a match.
I was playing the demo version of this game, and yeah...its really good.
I was thinking of getting this, but I didn't realize that you could make your own levels...so now I'm absolutely getting this game.
"There’s no denying that Mass Effect is a great game, but there’s also no denying that it demonstrates the Xbox 360’s limitations more than any other title – its frame rate stutters at an alarming rate as media is streamed at insufficient speeds from the system’s optical drive. If Bioware’s programmers had been guaranteed one or two gigabytes of storage to use for buffering environments, these hiccups would never have materialized".
While I agree in part to this stateme...
2007 was one of the biggest years for games sales.
Now GTA4 is having the highest sales ever and its looking to be a stellar lineup of games for the foreseeable future.
Meantime, despite all of EAs efforts to buy out the competition they have been getting more and more of a reputation of producing bad products or just ripping you off.
So at a time where the games industry is having a boom, EA are struggling to keep their income.
Its the same old thing as all the other movie tie in games.
Main character, 3rd person perspective, blow things up and do easy puzzles if any.
Until they fall down dead because they forgot to eat.
The only place I've seen anything about this stabbing was on N4G.
The only thing I saw related on BBC was about GTA4 coming out today...nothing was mentioned about the stabbing.
They can't blame it on the game, he hadn't got it yet.
Fact is millions of people will be getting this game, do they really expect in a few weeks time there will be millions of people spilling out into the street high jacking cars and shooting each other.
Low lives like these were murderers before they played the game. Of course they would be attracted to this entertainment.
"Injuries and death are shown with blood including blood projected onto nearby walls, windscreens and the camera lens."
Um, show me a game that has shooting in it that does not have blood projection etc in it.
All you need to do to avoid playing this game is to
a) not buy a console.
b) not buy the game
c) not spend your time learning to play the game.
You have to go through all these actions to use this content....so is it so hard to avoid if this offends you?
Yep, last year it was all 'next gen' this.....now its all 'Future Proof' that.
Will at the moment its sold out on both.
The only way you can buy GTA4 right now is to buy it with a PS3.
