Well this is a first entry in a new IP, I give them a little wiggle room, they even already said they would make the campaign in a sequel longer.
Even COD didn't start out with a fantastic campaign or anything, especially the earlier ones.
I actually have high hopes for Homefront.
It was hyped as the Halo Killer and the PS3's first "Killer App". It was really supposed to be a huge franchise for the PS3, instead it killed one of my favorite game franchises.
I'm enjoying Homefront, what game now day's doesn't release with a few minor issues?
People complaining about the short campaign should at least be happy it had a campaign, I mean games like Socom Confrontation, MAG and Warhawk had absolutely no offline mode and yet were full priced anyway.
I beat the campaign in about 5 hours, the online was actually fresh and felt different and new, much better then Bad Company or the newer Medal Of Honor games...
Haze killed any and all chances for a Star Wars Battlefront 3 game, as they were in charge of making the game, then with the ultra poor reviews and sales for Haze, they closed down.
Pretty much all those games listed were huge fails, but none as much as Haze IMHO.
I bought it too, it plays very good online. The campaign is short, but it's really all about the online play in that game.
In a generation where we've had games full priced at $60 like MAG, Socom Confrontation and Warhawk that had absolutely NO OFFLINE CAMPAIGN, I'll take a 4-5 hour one anyday of the week.
It's a pretty nice game, much better then the Bad Company games and certainly the new Medal Of Honor game.
I had 8 people on my Xbox 360 friends list playing Homefront yesterday. So it's possible, plus we already know it's first day sales were around 400k.
I'm saying HDMI is a fine option, but I lived with a launch Xbox 360 console until last year when I bought a new 360s.
As for Motion controls, I wont ever fully use those to replace standard ones, but it's a fine option to play from time to time for a nice change of pace.
PSN+ doesn't give you free games, it pretty much rents them to you.
If you've never used XBL, then you'll never understand why I hate PSN so much, it...
I'm glad he dreams big, it's those things that grow the industry. I mean why single him out? the Fable series has been amazing IMHO, I've enjoyed all three.
Looking at it from another standpoint, remember the PS3's early promises? I mean 4-D graphics, Backwards compatibility, 8 USB ports, Linux support ect.... But to dream is fine and I'm glad he made promises and at least attempted those things.
HDMI wasn't widely used or available. The original Xbox had HD and was the first HD console. Blue Ray is debatable, but seeing as how were winding down this console generation and the Xbox 360 is still going strong without it, I'm going to say they really didn't need it this generation.
Trolls look for any excuse to say one thing or another, I seriously doubt many PS3 users use this feature and as someone who has both a PS3 and XBox 360 I can say I'll never u...
Nah, Xbox 360 doesn't need this, for that matter PS3 doesn't need this.
I can see this thing not really being used to be honest. It also seems a bit unreliable and even a way for Sony or other companies to go through your files ect.....
Anyone with an MP3 player or Ipod can easily upload a gamertag or save info on that for portability. Seems like a much safer and quicker method to me.
Nice to see it get some nice first day sales, it's a pretty good game, the campaign is short, but the multiplayer is fantastic.
Wonder if the people that are hating on the short campaign ever played games like Warhawk, Socom Confrontation or MAG, all of which lacked any kind of campaign at all and were still fully priced at $60?
Homefront excels and the online and this is a step in the right direction.
Simple to answer question.
YES! It's unbeatable. Call us sheep or whatever else, but COD offers a style all it's own and will often be imitated but never beaten. COD for life!
The best graphics in the world aren't going to do much for me if the story isn't solid, along with believable voice acting and likable characters.
Very interested to see what this is all about. No doubt the guy is a genius though.
Graphics aren't everything, most of the console games now days have decent to good graphics anyway, so it's not really an issue.
There are different graphical styles, like say a Mass Effect style compared to a Mad World style. Both are amazing in their own way.
I'm more of a story driven kind of gamer, solid story means I'll get immersed and lost in the story itself. Also I like to have fun gaming, so it's all good as long as I'm havi...
GOW has always been Gears Of War to me. Anyway, 16 hours should be easy enough, considering I spend more then that a week on Gears Of War 2 still...
Cant wait!
Shovelware!
Honestly I pay for XBL because it has the most competition and I prefer the setup of the Xbox dash and online.
So the rest of what you said doesn't apply to me, Yes I use Netflix with my Xbox 360, but it doesn't cost me anything extra aside from the Netflix subscription. Also, I've personally never paid more then $30 a year for XBL.
Nice little butthurt rant there, but I do enjoy my Kinect and my Xbox 360, probably as much if not more then you enj...
It doesn't sound too bad, I'll have to withhold judgement until I actually get to try it.
They lost all their tech, there is a whole story about how development was passed on to another company, who then closed down.
SWBF3 is now either not in production or is secretly in production by a totally different company.
