"Oh you mean the self proclaimed 'unbiased neutral' gamers."
I guess that's the polite way to describe them, if not as on the mark as hypocrites who are too lacking in the strength of their convictions to settle for what Xbox is offering rather than pass up on the system they try to bash.
Yet, time and time again you get people putting the cart before the horse by touting games Xbox has in their pipeline, including titles they don't know so much as the name of being worked on by certain studios, as if acquisitions and unreleased titles prove they've gotten over that hump. It's best to let Xbox prove themselves. We've had 3 generations to learn that lesson.

Where did you get that from, and when did you come upon this knowledge? You were all in on making excuses for the showcase build, so it's interesting that you're now stating it was going to be delayed before they showed it and laying blame for what was shown on trying to appease critics.

Spidey was always going to be forever excluded on Xbox because Sony had to give permission for him to appear in the game at all.
"Because of Sony's unique relationship with Marvel and PlayStation, specifically, that gives us an affordance with Spider-Man that we wouldn't have otherwise."

Let's also not pretend this wasn't announced at Xbox's last game's showcase.

Or are you going to twist and turn to pretend it's not hypocritical to ignore Xbox paying to have content blocked from PS gamers who already bought the game and don't have a choice to ...
Ah. You're one of those critics mentioned in the article.
"Instead, (according to critics) Sony had robbed an experience from the broader gaming community."
Explain how PS is paying to lock away a character who is only in the game because PS permitted it.
"name one famous studio they shutterd, that was extremely successful and they just got rid of them?"
What studios have they had that have been extremely successful?
"everybody wants to look at Sony with rose colored glasses, again, they shuddered plenty of studios. what they did with socom developer, zipper interactive was very cut-throat. you don't hear people talking about it though, do you ?"

It means myself and a lot of gamers on N4G and everywhere will be getting a PS5 on the strength of Sony's record delivering high quality content for PS1 through PS4, including, and maybe especially because of, how their 1st and 2nd party production solved the PS3's early exclusives problem of some big 3rd party titles that were formerly PS exclusive franchises going multiplat.
It's easy for people to forget that the PS3 initially had to overcome an exclusives p...
Try again without the loaded questions. Never said they were stopping people from putting apps on Windows.
"They're hypocrites."
They aren't the only hypocrites in this story.
Why not? Because MS found themselves on the receiving end?
Microsoft did this before? They're doing it now!
That story doesn't exist because Sony is hypocritically whining about Apple's policy.
This is an example of why I find their pro-consumer and options marketing to be disingenuous and often weaponized for passive aggressive attacks on their competitors. It's about giving options and being pro-consumer when they stand to gain, like when they want to get a competitor to open up their ecosystem to them. Apple should have thrown their comment back at them by saying, "Xbox stands alone as the only popular home gaming console platform to deny consumers from playing free to p...
Right? If I didn't know better, I'd say it looks like they just copied this gen's sales gap for their next gen forecast.
@gamer7804
i don't think the PS community is clamoring for cross-play, so don't you worry. There would be no more reason to lock out Spider-Man than any other DLC character.
MS didn't forget. They lost market share since the 360. It takes more money to compensate 3rd parties not to sell to the larger audience, and those dollars may not stretch as far if there's an impression that timed exclusivity on Xbox will hurt sales on future platforms once the exclusivity period expires.
It's understandable you might feel the delay leaves you no compelling reason to make a Day 1 purchase, but the one time (to my knowledge) you're threatening to boycott Xbox is because they won't release an unfinished game, of all reasons.
