"The Spider-Man topic is very delicate, it's above us in terms of the relationship between Marvel and Sony."

In case it needed reiterating.

It's also worth noting the affect social distancing is likely having on these numbers. Nevertheless, that' s a nice chunk of change. So can we revisit the supposed need of some publishers to increase game prices to $70?

I have suspected the removal of the 12 month Gold sub may be an attempt to effectively lock the 12 month Gold subscription itself behind a Game Pass paywall to force annual Gold subscribers onto pricier subscriptions. That's just speculation. That said, this site had better blow up like never before if speculation turns out to be reality, after years now of marketing buzzwords about being pro consumer and more options being used to undermine the competition while puffing up Xbox.

I don't recall ever once hearing anyone talking about "playing Xbox" that way prior to this post. I'm sure some have, but I highly doubt it's the casual expression you're making it out to be.

Xbox had quite a few "third party deals" at their last showcase. Care to show us where you accused Xbox fans who got hyped over those deals of hypocrisy, since you've apparently appointed yourself to be the hypocrisy police?

"Why would they purposely get rid of 12 months gold subs but still have 1 and 2 months if they weren't going to be making some sort of change with online pay wall some time in the next month or so?"

If you're asking what other reasons there might be, maybe to force people to either go all in on Game Pass Ultimate or have to pay almost twice as much for a year of Gold as they would under the 12 month sub.

"Real-money loot boxes" whatever that means. Does that mean they can be bought with fake, game currency bought with real money? It's an oddly specific way of denying MTs.

In fairness to 343i, I think they're only mentioning it now because they're having to field a bunch of questions about the deceptive excuse Greenberg put out. I don't recall 343i using that particular excuse, though they have answered questions asking about how old the build was.

"The build used to run the campaign demo was work-in-progress from several weeks ago with a variety of graphical elements and game systems still being finished and polished."

Not long at all. Like I thought. That's what I figured when Greenberg started up the "earlier build" excuse. It's a nice bit of equivocation. It makes sense that 343i would have provided their demo weeks in advance of the showcase for which it was the featured attraction. Sa...

You can upgrade to the PS5 version for free if you buy the PS4 version.

I do plan to pre-order, so I'll try to play my copy of Maxi Boost on PS5 if I get one of the preorders and tell you if it's a compatible title.

There are some things to consider about how they gathered their sample that would be cause to question how broadly applicable their findings are. That said, I do see something that might be of concern for Xbox.

59% named PS4 as their preferred platform, and 84% named PS5 as the upcoming console they're most excited about.

16% named Xbox as their preferred platform, and 15% named Series X as the upcoming console they're most excited about.

Are you more concerned with it being PS1/PS2 compatible or being compatible with Maxi Boost?

"Sony is supporting something that sold poorly and no one is using."

Again you fail to consider the implications of what you're saying.

"Ha, ha! PS continues to support poor selling peripherals across multiple gens. Owned!" is not a favorable argument for the company that failed to properly support a sales hit and doesn't inspire confidence in what to expect from them should they actually win a generation for once or dominate ...

I hope you realize your desperate attempt to score points in favor of a dead peripheral is an implicit statement that every PS home console to date is better than any Xbox released, considering the best selling Xbox was still outsold by the worst selling Playstation, which launched a year after it.

"You trash Kinect then brush PS move under the rug when Kinect was more successful than Move."

PS Move released an exclusive retail game less than 4 weeks ago. When was the Kinect's last exclusive game of any kind, retail or digital?

"It's just DRM in disguise whether they know it or not! No actuall game ownership, because it's a service that doesn't require you to pay up front for the games."

I saw a comment here touting how GP will kill the used game market for Xbox and thought the same thing. Same plan. Different strategy.

"Now learn to read and while you are at it, learn to do math..."

You ever heard of the Dunning-Krueger Effect?

Go take a statistics course. Maybe then you'll understand why someone can reasonably disagree with your opinions and even challenge the math you did to support them. Or you can keep double replying to your own comment to cry about people disagreeing with you in a comment section. That's such a good look for you. Which reminds m...

The funny thing is you still have people commenting on this article trying to spin numbers to make it like Game Pass is very profitable, which is contrary to what Greenberg said.
