Eh...It's like this products-review website that I've never actually seen review any products. You would think that people would learn from EGM's spiral into nothing. Yep, people aren't going to spend their very limited disposable income on a mediocre game (SR and RF excluded) in this economy. That's all there is to it.
You're right.
Nintendo/Sega were primarily games companies, and the public will usually know what they offer. The companies that are conglomorates like MS and Sony need the identifier.
Clock Tower is a good example of what the gameplay mechanics are like, but Amnesia does it better IMO.

I just don't know if Insomniac can be as competitive in the multiplatform arena, without the exclusive hype. If the games fail to sell well with hype, how are they going to stand out without Sony showcasing their games?
lol.....no used games kinect,and paid online sounds like Microsoft to me. If this is true (along with the weak gpu rumors), I wouldn't even want to think about a purchase.

The video game market has become highly segmented this gen, at the pains of third parties. Each region now tailors the games to their specific market (mostly).
