Working for me on the east coast...maybe the servers went down in different region?
Gamefailers strikes again. Everything about Uncharted 2 speaks of Naughty Dog's passion for their craft, while MW2 feels like a marginally improved cash-in. What a disservice. Also, no Infamous or Killzone 2 nominations? What a slap to the face of the great devs behind those games.
Beaten twice. What those guys said
God I can't wait until Microsoft leave the gaming industry...all their employees are pompous pricks.
Why not go after the company that deserves the criticism? The company that sells you a console that breaks a third of the time, sells you expansions, and Internet capabilty. The company that uses their own employees to spread FUD about the competition. The company that has never had an original idea, but rather ideas bought and marginally improved from other companies.
This just comes off really insecure to me. I find that the person talking the loudest usually has the weakest argument.
This reminds me of Amir (Microsoft HDDVD rep) on AVSforum. All he did was say negative things about blu-ray like: "Dual-layer blurays are science fiction, while HDDVD has a triple layer coming in a few months! (it never came out). He even went as far as trolling the blu-Ray insiders on that site. This is how Microsoft always operates; instead of playing up their products positives, they try to create a negative about their competitors.
Lol...where's eurogamer's comparison? I thought that was their favorite thing to do....oh well.
I think that a lot happened behind the scenes with this firmware. Optimization (definately in game xmb and browser, so quick now) and probably software libraries for the PSEye and wand. I think they just needed a way to package it so customers knew something changed.
You may be right. This generation may just seem worse due to the consolidation into a few major outlets. Things like this and things like the Kane and Lynch fiasco flat out make me angry due to the fact that great games get overlooked due to not having "AAA" status, and it may end up stifling the creativity of devs.
This generation is proving how pathetic games journalism has become. Seems like this all started with Dan "shoe" comparing a finished game's AI to Killzone 2's unfinished preview build, but he got some major egg in the face when the AI is nearly the best for this generation. I think this just shows that these "journalists" are open to the highest bidder.
Hmmmm.....I guess you've got a link for the "xbox live killer" quote from Sony. And where it was announced at E3 (hint: it wasn't. It was at GamesCom.)
Exactly....there wasn't even a store for the first year and a half, the PS3 couldn't play DTS-HD, and in-game XMB was super laggy until about a year ago. I welcome firmware updates whenever I get one.
Exactly...you could write a blog to show the misinformation in this blog......and then submit it to N4G.
But you would have to cleverly change the title into a flamebait question, like: "Are blog writers morons? (PS3 sucks)". It would instantly be approved.
Ummmm.......no. A team in SCEI handles the firmware. The PSN team handles the store and marketing. That's like blaming the PSN team for the home software. They could probably request a feature, but it's up to upper management and firmware team for implementation.
Yes, but it will be short lived. The "true" price cut of the ps3 will boost sales more.
How could it be slower? A slower drive would completely break the capatibility with older titles aka Sony can't use a slower drive. If anything, it's a placebo effect from the removal of the "playstation 3" boot screen removal.
"achievement addiction: achievements are much better than trophies"
WTF...they are pretty much the exact same.
The most fail web site of all time fails again, GameFaily.
The fact that Jim Sterling is considered a journalist is a scary concept to me.
