Sony already did make what was effectively a PS1 Mini. it was called the PlayStation TV. it had many of the popular PS1 games. it also played PSP & Vita games, ports of PS2 & PS3 games & nobody bought it because people are idiots.

xbox is doing the same thing with backward compatibility. wouldn't be surprised if they made original xbox games compatible as well. they could just release the 360 version of Vanquish on xbox one if they want.
