Actually, the only jrpgs to come near 200 000 in the US are Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Persona 4 sold around 120 000 and Valkyrie Chronicles some 100 000 units. So, why again is the 360 a bad choice for jrpg-developers? It's the genre that sells like shait in america, only LO has managed to change this with a big marketing campaing to back it up.

So wrong. They track the sales from around 60 percent of retailers and then add the remaining 40% based on the sales of those retailers and former sales trends. It gives us a stastically correct image of how much a certain game or console has sold.
Granted, some months they might be a few percent below the true numbers, and some months they might be a few percent over, but over a 12 month period their numbers are always statistically correct.

Halo 3 helped Microsoft sell consoles months in advance and months after. There's a system seller.
The preorder numbers mentioned were always the store preorders, not the consumer preorders. There's no way Sony can know how many games a store has preordered.

Hyped games usually sell about half of their first week sales the first day, because of preorders and such. So 2 days of sales 350 thousand should make about 150k for the rest of the week. First week sales usually makes up a big chunk of first month sales, so I'd say we're looking at a maximum of 300k for Killzone 2 in March. MAXIMUM.

I don't think you guys would like a list of former Sony exclusives coming to 360.
Microsoft dropped the price in september and benefited for 3 full months of increased sales after that. Before that it was Sony that dropped the price, in nov07, so for the first 9 months of the year Sony had increased sales due to dropping the price.

Not worried at all. As it looks, Sony will probably have the best exclusive lineup for the ps3, but I'm very confident that Microsoft will show enough games to keep me occupied throughout 2009. Also, Microsoft has lots of other things going for them, cheaper price, extra content and some big arcade releases.
