Yeah the ps3 could actually pass the 100 million mark given that the console should be sold for 5 years minimum and the library is insane (and growing).
People may mock the indie push (indiestation) but this move will fill out the early game roster and give them a hefty lead.

consumer behavior is very difficult to predict. if games start launching at $1, you can eventually end up with a situation where the value of gaming as a whole declines in the mind of the consumer....and its a tough road back from there.
It would be interesting to see what happens to mobile gaming in the long term as it gets increasingly cluttered and the price ceiling has been set.
The ending did it for me. If it had descended into some sentimental audience-tested drivel i would have been pissed.
