Regardless of how "kiddy" many people think zelda is, its core design, gameplay and the overall effort and passion put in to each of the games shines brighter than many sub par games with sequels that are designed simply to extort suckers for money. Zelda's aren't churned out like loose change, they are refined and carefully developed. If certain people can't see that, i honestly think they didn't actually play any of them. Although fair enough if you just don't like the gameplay or...
my thoughts exactly, i was scared i missed something like the hardcore difficulty geth rifle... but in the end... WHAT THE??? I mean who really needs a walk through for this??? ahhaa.
I just finished the game on normal in about 7.5 hrs... the only thing that gets me... is that as you go deeper into hell, virgil(your guide) starts talking about how "incredible and grotesque" the circles become that even he can't apply words to it, when in reality the deeper you go, the developers get lazier and lazier.
I mean seriously they had so much good theme and content they could work with, but the last 3 circles were pathetic. If anything i would say the first...
Japanese people and Hong Kong airports???
oh dear... i worry about the quality and intelligence of our posters these days. :S
nice posts.... couldn't agree more!
LOL i love these arguments....
Honestly, there is no right or wrong way to play. Camping is technically not cheating, i have friends who immerse themselves so much in the game they think they are in a real war, so hence they camp. No matter how you look at it, they are not cheating, and neither is the Street Fighter Blanka crouch heavy punch players, the fact of the matter is, you as a player need to accommodate and change your play style to counter theirs.
Seriousl...
The good ol days... when there was no internet and the only way i knew when a good game was going to come out was to go and stand in a newsagent and look up magazines like ZAP for amiga/commodore, PC Powerplay and old skool Electronic Gaming Monthly.
Man... in a way... the internet is a blessing... but the bad thing now is nothing surprises me the way it did back then.
Back then it was like... "OMG I never knew they were making an Ultima 7 for 386 processors, or...
I won't really say anything until its fully released... but already im not really a fan of the environments compared to Gears 1 and 2.
Is it just me or does the environments have this shroomy look... haha... have no idea why but the art style keeps reminding me of MDK for some reason...
NOLF!!!! sigh... i looooved that game.
I still remember that conversation about the vendor wanting to sell a monkey.
Its a pity they went on to develop FEAR instead... i would give anything for another NOLF.
ZOMG... go-bots! Never thought someone would bring that one up! hahaha good times...
All i can say is... Bumblebee pwns Scooter.
I can picture 2 kids now arguing over which toy is cooler... the one who transforms into an f15 that is the size of a matchbox car, or the kid holding that massive truck with a trailer, and plastic weapons to go along with it. Yep argue all you want... the casual observer would know what is better by just looking at both. Or better comparis...
He is right about one thing... gaming is indeed emotional. People attach themselves to things like their favorite soccer/NFL/baseball team. Gaming in general is no different.
Whether he is right about other things, is just a matter of opinion.
However I really did find the bit about FF13 belonging to a specific brand a bit ridiculous.
Nice read.
JRPG = playing characters that are not you. It functions more like a novel. You are trying to see the world through the developers eyes and their dreams and ideals.
WRPG = playing characters that generally can be or are you. You get to make the choices and decide the fate of the universe/world and follow a path that developers do not choose for you.
JRPG's signify very much the collectivism ideals in where eastern culture prefers to follow and...
Borderlands better than UC2? Your kidding right? I know its a great game, i am a level 47 siren myself on newgame ++... but you should know better than to pit a game that has a terrible story and not so fun singleplayer against UC2 which does well in both single and multiplayer.
Borderlands is great yes, but to say its better than UC2 i would have to disagree. The other games you mention though have advantages in their own right. But definitely not Borderlands. To each his own op...
Hating on Zelda is like asking me to go and "hate" on my childhood... oh rly? ya rly! no waaaiiiiiii! X(
Definitely not news... besides nothing beats the n64 kid.
Honestly though, i am happy for him. If i was a parent, that would be the type of reaction I would want from my kid... it means they did well as a parent. Nothing worse than picking a present and the recipient doesn't like it. Kids are kids after all.
I remember when i got my NES from my grandpa as a gift... i actually frowned because i didn't know what it was back then, and i really wanted an Amiga. Honestly...
If you are in Melbourne, you can buy the U.S. version from Dungeon Crawl in CBD.
34 hrs and finally up to Chapter 11... gaaah... i knew i shouldn't have stuck around and grind at Chapter 9, but yes Chapter 11 is sooo different.
Those Behemoth's are huge, tried to attack one, one stomp obliterated two members in the blink of an eye :S After being directed for so long, i have no idea what to do now!!! :D No more corridors and straight paths... Good times. XD
I didn't see that one coming... hehe...
I loved demon souls... although i know its not a game for everyone. There will be people that love it or hate it. It took me roughly 2 weeks of playing it on and off to actually get into it myself. At the beginning its just sooooo.... "confusing" would be the best word to put it. You have no idea what your doing or where your heading, you just gotta keep moving. Then eventually there will be a moment where everything just comes to...
nice one... couldn't have said it better myself. MW2 was good, but still very much like MW1, Killzone 2 was also good, but made a lot more improvements over its predecessor!
I had to admit i played KZ2 for months online, then stopped, been playing MW2 now, and only put back KZ2 into the machine the other day... my god... i forgot how good it looked. If i didn't put KZ2 in the machine just to look again, i would have actually said MW2's multiplayer was better... but its funny how ...
Waaay too early to say its better than deadspace.
Deadspace is a game in a class of its own with that sci-fi theme. Although not as scary as Fatal Frame, Deadspace was pretty intense, and by far it is the best sounding survival horror game utilizing the dolby digital 5.1 to date.
So far Alan Wake doesn't really look to be that scary to me. It most definitely looks graphically mind blowing, but right now, from the trailers i have seen(which are far and few), it doesn'...
