Why would they they have been killing it with console sales ? Exclusives drives those sales. Nintendo and Sony would never do what Microsoft's doing at the moment , because there is no need. They would do a later Pc release for extra sales when normal sales have stopped. Microsoft needs to keep investors happy and recoup costs on companies they bought.

Microsoft might go all out and give one last final swing with a beast of a console sold at a loss. Sony will build on Ps 5 Pro. Nintendo will be nintendo, innovative , expensive and under powered. This time they will have competition though.
That 70 buck games scare me , its already$85 here. With prices never coming down unless you buy second hand.

$499 it can't be since it us nowhere near PS5 and xbox performance. Yes they sell their software at more expensive prices. With the tax etc. In some countries it would be nice if it's between $350 and $400 but knowing Nintendo they might go for something like $420 for them kids.
They are just trying to get Software sales so that they can recoup their investments. Eventually if the Next BoX sells well they will stop. They have no choice at the moment.

The problem is it isn't just concord or Sony, it's the gaming industry. People are done waiting years for a game only for it to be unimaginative, agenda and dlc driven bland and boring. The harder people work with more hours to get enough money to actually afford gaming, the less time buyers have for the same old same old. 2024 was the year that games had enough. Though I agree with most of the article. The gameplay normally lets some look past the story. Even though most of it is repetitive. I mean games like Mario has the same limited story for the last few decades , but we don't care since the gameplay is super fun and varied. Games need that and should stop to force what is going on in our world on games that are an escape from that said world. It should be fun rather. I mean story adds to that , but the blend should be good.

The problem is that actually Larian is one of the few companies that is trying to stand up for companies. Why punish them ...even if they had no choice in the choosing of the award.
I want time travel where you visit revamped old games as part of the story. Bringing with you new powerups as the badguy changes the original levels in ways we son't expect.
