It's funny because I always remembered him for doing one of the first interviews on Dark "Souls" II!!! And he looked pretty "soulless" after that! Sorry, had to throw that out.

Jokes aside, I don't take IGN reviews as seriously. At least, not without knowing the background of the reviewer.

THANK YOU! Finally, someone who has a brain! This is my mindset entirely. I am still playing games like Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege to this day (especially Rainbow Six Siege, which you pointed out, is larger than when it first released!). These games together, I have a combined playtime of almost 400 hours. They are both amazing games that I can play in short bursts (especially ranked or competitive) and go about my daily school life. It's sad because my favourite genre is RPGs, but t...

I personally just want the VR experience to be more accessible for others. I want it to be expanded and improved upon for the coming years because it is getting there! Hopefully the PSVR adds this little push to the VR scene.

The music fits this game more than the other two though. I for one, really like Star Citizen's orchestral space opera music, and I do not think this music would fit in it. Not saying it's not good (it's amazing), but it would not fit in with the atmosphere of those games.

Interesting picks there! Some of my favourites are there as well! You actually just reminded me to play through Ni No Kuni as I have the game, but I have still not gone through it! Very good to see Pillars of Eternity there as well, I have heard nothing but good things about it. Going to pick it up in the next sale!

You are not the only person as someone may share your opinion of not liking it as much. Although I would avoid the use of the word "overrated", as you are putting down other people's opinion of the game. It also seems that the game might not have been for you as it was a heavily story-driven game where you role play as Geralt of Rivia. The combat was nothing to write home about (I felt it was serviceable), but the characters, world, story, and interactions are what the game was ...

@Lev1903

I can't say that Skyrim is one of the best RPGs that I have played since Morrowind and even Oblivion top it in terms of RPG aspects imo. Despite their aging, I say those are better representatives for leading the Elder Scrolls Series. I will say this though, the reason why I don't think Skyrim is better than those two is that it did not engage me as much as those two did. TotalBiscuit summed up what I thought about Skyrim in one phrase. "Skyrim is as l...

Ah, RPGs. My favourite genre, and the one that I am increasingly losing time to play. Since RPGs cover such a wide spectrum (RPGs, JRPGs, ARPGs, etc.), it is impossible to nail down one game as the "best". Some of my favourites are Deus Ex 1 (consider it an RPG with FPS elements, it also happens to be my favourite game of all time), Dark Souls or Demon's Souls, Gothic 1 (one of the, if not, most engaging worlds I have ever played through), Persona 4 Golden, Diablo 2, and so much...

@Gaming4Life1981
I am not the best to speak about it, but since launch, I have heard nothing but good things from it. I believe that it is singleplayer only, but that should immerse you even more with no annoying players to worry about. I saw some gameplay of it earlier, and it looked extremely immersive and quite challenging (as it should be). I would wait for the others to respond, but from what I've seen, you should be quite safe in purchasing it as it is only $7.47 CAD for me...

Omg, I am actually playing through Lost Odyssey right now. Just passed this part and I had to put it down for now (plus exams coming up soon lol), but this was truly a sad moment. What I also love are the short story segments that you collect throughout the game. Those are truly sad as well, and I love the writing in them.

I am really excited for this new setting of World War 1! I always appreciated games that take this setting, especially games like Verdun. To be honest though, I do not understand the hate for a future setting for Battlefield. I am sure if people played Battefield 2142, they would understand that Battlefield 2143 would have been amazingly epic with the new technology. I believe that many people don't understand that a future setting for Battlefield would have been good because many did not...

To be honest though, why wouldn't the PC community want excellent JRPGs? Exclusivity is what creates this boundary between platforms, but it is also what the console needs to survive. I am still going to get this game, but there is nothing wrong with a platform's community wanting a game on their platform as well. It just goes to show how good the game will be. Don't forget, there are many PC-exclusive titles that have crossed over into consoles. The same goes for the console excl...

@The_Infected

I am not going to lie, I really loved Gears of War's single player campaign. I even find that Gears of War is one of the best third-person shooter series on the market. And the campaign certainly adds to that (to which the Horde mode and Multiplayer mode also added to it). But why does he need to create a single player campaign for this game? This is an arena shooter for PC only, and his studio is going to create it with the intention of creating a great m...

I would wholeheartedly agree with you in that decision. Although I don't mind Fallout 3 on the list, it was definitely a departure (for better or for worse) from the series. Fallout New Vegas brought it back and brought with it the RPG that I was looking for. Jade Empire is another amazing pick to include in this list, and is not mentioned enough!

I personally don't consider Borderlands an RPG in the traditional sense (e.g. Baldur's Gate, Dragon Age: Origins, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, etc.). More like it borrowed elements of an RPG (progression system, damage numbers, loot, etc.), and fitted it into an FPS. That's why Gearbox called it an FPSRPG on some one of the first trailers for Borderlands if I recall correctly. I'd say that even that is a stretch to be honest.

I love RPGs as well! They are my favourite genre! What RPGs have you played and recommend? I agree with Maxor here that Pillars of Eternity is an amazing example of one. I have only played a little at a friend's place, but he and many other people I have talked to say that it is amazing! I am playing through Baldur's Gate 1 (Enhanced Edition), and I am having such a great time learning the world and its characters. So if you haven't played that one, definitely check it out.

I am so conflicted with this really. On one hand, I am PC gamer mainly, but I always loved the Xbox consoles. I never got the chance to get an Xbox One (or a PS4 in that matter) because I still have no reason to go and buy one yet (PS4 is itching to be bought soon though, some good games coming out for it that I really want!). I only have a Wii U from this gen, and that has been sufficient for my console gaming this whole time. As for Xbox One games, I have got Killer Instinct and Gears of Wa...

I do get you on that point. Those guys craft some of the best FPS campaigns out there. But, as I said before, if they are aiming to focus on multiplayer, I'd rather let them be. They are confirmed to be making a campaign from what I have heard, so I hope it is as good as the old CoDs! Count me excited for this one!

That is entirely your opinion on what is more interesting to have in a game. But what Immorals said was more in line to what I think the game deserves. Should games like League of Legends, Dota, Overwatch, etc. have campaigns since they are multiplayer only? Immorals presented a stronger argument in my opinion because these companies focused on making there multiplayer sections. To have them add a single player campaign would stretch the resources, and it is hard to create both a very good ca...

All people who say this game needs a campaign, please look at this video by Super Bunnyhop. I think it provides an interesting perspective to the widely popular "all multiplayer games should have campaigns". Please do give it a watch, as I used to be on the same boat as you guys. I love this guy's channel as it has such good journalistic and review content that reminds me of MatthewMatosis (who sadly doesn't review often, but when he does, it is amazing and in-depth!).
