The hate comes from the fact that the game from what we've seen appears to be a linear, story focused game with possibly little replay-ability and an underwhelming completion time for 60$.

This game lacks those parts where you traverse an area in a transport vehicle or a part where your in some death machine destroying everything in your path. The sparrow parts are just to get to that linear corridor dungeon and do the same thing you've been doing the entire time. Why isn't there any space combat or ship customization or interesting weapons to use? Remember the spartan laser, needler, plasma pistol, and brute spikers? The part that pissed me off was when your character asks "Who are the awoken" despite the fact that you can play as one, it got worse when the awoken just pretend you are a human regardless if you are one of them and there is no special dialogue whatsoever to give you the distinction of you being a different race.

The funniest thing about the original story was how a freaking Microsoft employee stealthily advised buying the Xbox over the PlayStation because it had "Safety buttons." Yeah only Xbox live has a report, mute, and block button available because that's so uncommon. Bungie already said they wanted parity between all versions. The problem is that the console that's capable of running it at a higher framerate and other increases has to be handicapped by the slower one to avoid disparity. At least PC is still an option unless they gimp that too.
