MS only has 9 in-house studios. But I don't even count BigPark and their Xbox Live Productions team. I think there are only 2 active studios that MS has. Which are Lionhead and Turn 10. The other studios have been really under the radar... MS has to step it up somehow. I am happy what MS have done for the gaming community such as Xbox Live, great line-up of games, etc.... But for some reason, MS has been slipping a bit in terms of catering to their Hardcore fans looking for hardcore games...
MS better announce some hardcore exclusives at their E3. Seems they are betting on Natal, but I for one am still a bit skeptical. MS needs to secure more first-party studios and pump out some exclusives. I will be tuning in on Microsoft's E3 day 1..... I hope I don't "facepalm" myself at the end of their presentation.
Some people have to realize that this a new IP! New projects are not developed overnight. Not to mention when Remedy is only a team of 45. Not really a lot of man power considering some development companies exceed 100 employees.
But at some points, I do agree. Alan Wake does sometimes fall pretty short delivering that amazing detail. Lip-sync is not that good, and the screen tearing at some points are apparent. This is Remedy's first attempt on a next-gen console. Hopef...
I agree. God of War 3 and Mass Effect 2 were definitely released a bit to early in the year. And now, we have all of these games coming out that unfortunately, I too think ME2 and GOW3 will be overlooked. Hopefully gaming sites and award shows don't overlook them.. Because ME2 and GOW3 are by FAR, the best contenders of GOTY.
Cheers!! :D

Alan Wake has received pretty good scores. Sure, some of you might always rely on Metacritic, but Remedy has seen the reviews from various web-sites and have been pretty impressed by it. But Alan Wake does have its flaws so hopefully Remedy has learned from them and improve in future projects.... 5 days for me till I get Alan Wake. And from the ...
Can't wait to see what Sony and MS show at E3. I'm hoping they announce a lot of exclusives and show the public more on Move and Natal.
Happy Gaming! Cheers!! :D
"The game is 720p. Those screenshots are based off footage captured at 960x540 like cocorenut pointed out, of course there will be some downsampling involved.
As has said before Videogameszone and Gamepro both released footage without approval and due to the fact that we don't know how many compressions their videos went through or what process they took it's best not to use those videos as sources."
Well thankfully, that was only part of Alan's dream. I doubt we will see him again unless Alan dreams again.
Definitely get an Xbox 360. Lots of great exclusive and multi-platform games coming out this year.
Cheers!! :D
Free DLC? Sweet!
Alan Wake! Super pumped for it! Red Dead Redemption and Lost Planet 2 will definitely be played. May is a great month for gamers. Cheers!! :D
Doesn't look to pretty.
Thanks for the bubbles mate! I really appreciate it. :)
My overall GOTY for 2010 hands down is Mass Effect 2. It is by far the best game I have ever played this gen. Engaging story, interesting characters, awesome combat, amazing soundtrack, and a wide selection of weapons, armors, and upgrades. It's a game that I feel proud I spent my hard earn money on. It's a game that I want to replay over and over again and make different choices.
Anyone should immediately by this game. Whether on Xbox 360 or PC. Best damn game ever. Period. <...
I was just about to post this. It's nice to see Remedy finally clarify this situation. Cheers! :D
I completely agree with you. It has taken Microsoft a while to try and match PS3 exclusives. The number one reason being of course is that MS does not have enough first-party developers. I doubt it really has anything to so with hardware limitations. As I've read from Remedy that they can still push the Xbox 360 hardware on the CPU and GPU a bit further.
MS just has to figure out the first-party situation. Either open new studios or buy current studios that they have been workin...
The use of slow motion was used in both Max Payne games. It gives a bit more juice or suspense during key gameplay or cinematic moments. It has been said that Alan Wake will be locked at 30FPS.

Don't be scared for Alan Wake. I too was also scared for Alan Wake. But I've been a member of the official forums and I know for a fact that Remedy has poured their hearts and souls into this game. The amount of commitment they have shown is to prove that the Remedy...

Would anyone mind giving me some bubbles? I have a feeling I'm going to be fighting this situation all day.
The screen-tearing you have been seeing in the gameplay videos were cause by video artifacts.
"The game is locked to 30 FPS (well, except menus, manuscript pages, etc which run at 60 FPS). All cinematics are guaranteed to run 30 FPS (as we actually background load the next location, in case there's a location change). If you saw video tearing in the published press material, it's 99% due to video sync issues (E.g, PAL video cams or 59.97 Hz vs. 60.00 Hz screen update).
I hope MS, Sony, and Nintendo have great a E3. Hopefully they all announce awesome games and tons of surprises.
Cheers! :D
