Sony released this slim at least a year too early. It's not as slim as it should be - eg fat ps2 to slim ps2 was a huge change.
Should have just put everything in a fat Ps3 for $299. Had Sony focussed on reducing costs on a fat - not getting out a slim - then we might have had a $299 ps3 a year ago. Oh, well.
The true slim should be in Vaio-like or laptop-like case. Obviously the CPU/GPU as still running way too hot.
nice ps3 though. I just don...
You got a disagree for saying Yes.
These kiddie 'tards that frequent this site are pathetic.
If you don't agree with the Yes then why not reply "NO" so we can ID you 'tard.
@Unicron
Warhawk is far more enjoyable game with 16 vs 16 - even more so when players know what they are doing.
60 vs 60 would be a Warhawk gamers dream. Not so with Resistance2 and its small maps and no usable vehicles.
Focus on perfecting Resistance 3.
And do it with an improved Warhawk game engine so we could have epic 60 vs 60 player games on huge maps with fully usable air and land vehicles.
Oh, but to dream.
R:FOM was a very good new IP especially for a developer that's never done a FPS.
It potentially could have been as good as Halo had they spent more time on it and set in in modern times, included a sympathetic lead characters, epic settings and levels, awesome music and fully usable vehicles. But it still is a very solid shooter with so much potential.
Also, look what Naughty Dog has achieved with Uncharted. ND has its roots in platformers. Should they too have...
Don't give a frack about Gabe anymore - he's a diehard M$ fanboy.
Just gone back to playing Halo 3 again, and it truly is a great game. BTW Warhawk easily beats H3 for fun online gameplay.
I just hope Insomniac would just copy the pros from Halo 3 and put it in R3. Especially, I'd love to see R3 go MODERN WARFARE and include fully usable vehicles.
Had Resistance:Fall of Man been set in the modern era, had fully usable vehicles as well as epic settings ...
Even if they had the best graphics, animation and sound, it would still suck.
FR fracked up big time and this is suspiciously surprising considering their history.
I'm worried big time for the work they are doing on Crysis for consoles. Makes me shiver.
Sony could get away with it with PsP Go with its smaller game sizes plus still having the Standard PsP.
But with HD gaming, having no optical media will be silly. The game sizes are huge and will get even bigger as developers push for more reality.
Plus, gamers simply love having hard copies not only for security and convenience by also prestige/pride and reselling/trade ins.
...
as for Ps4 release first...
This can be done but...
.... and don't release the Ps3 Slim until you can fit everything in a sleek, sexy Vaio-like case.
Now that would be slim.
...depending on how badly your are burnt, you just need to take cover and wait for flames to burn out.
Don't do what I did initially by running around setting my team mates on fire and getting shot.
And we need extra extra XP weekends with the ridiculous amount of points you need for the last rank. I mean going from 10,000 to 100,000 WTF.
Before the last DLC I said the first two would be free by the end of the year because the DLC map packs simply don't work anymore and they needed to added weapons, vehicles etc.
well, well....
GG bemuses me how slow off the mark they are with DLC.
GG, bring on vehicles, get rid of the spawn flare and have spawn zones/vehicles, redo the rankings COMPLETELY with contemporary weapon rewards(eg P90, Fs2000, Tavor, MP5, A4 etc).
Sheez if WaW can ...
The Ps3 has a fail rate but nowhere near as bad as the 360.
I was unlucky a fortnight ago to get the YLOD.
Did some quick research and found the MAIN cause is the solder connecting CPU/GPU to MB. Reflow will fix. Just need heat gun(350 degrees C), thermal compound(arctic silver recommended), Isopropanol(nail varnish remover) and screw drivers(incl T10 torx head) and voila - fixed. Oh, yeah. I only did this myself as I no longer had a warranty.
GG screwed up, it's as simple as that. But they also messed up with:
* the inclusion of the spawn flare(resulting in regular frag fests)
* exclusion of fixed spawn zones to compete for(reduces frag fests)
* shallow and superficial rankings and no new weapon reward
* few weapons
* no freely us...
I'm fracken sick and tired of getting unreadable disk error when playing Gears2 on my 360 and needing to clean and reboot.
How the games play out and won/lost revolve around how they are used - or not.
And frag fest nearly always happen at spawn flares making games quickly boring and frustrating.
Fixed spawn zones that teams have to fight for control would make the game much better. Sheez, GG, this is obvious.
Mobile spawns(slow Armored & minigun pack or Jeep) would also make the game better. Sheez, GG, look at the Carrier in Warhawk.
As for the new maps &a...
...as does the band.
@chrisnick
Not high standards. The E3 2005 trailer was awesome especially the explosions, rocket trails, use of vehicles and action.
GG did a good job with KZ2 but could have/should have included all the aforementioned - especially usable vehicles(jeeps and shooting from the Intruder) - to satisfy the fans of the trailer.
Imagine what KZ2's story, acting, characters, action, graphics had been like had Naughty Dog made i...
It would be one of the coupes of the year had Jaffe fooled everyone in believing it is a TM sequel.
I hope he's duped us all and has a new IP. Since he likes Gears so much, love to see his spin on a shooter of the same sort.
I can't believe that that's the best Sony could come up with being that they make the classy Vaio range. That slim is fugly.
Sheez, all Sony needs to do is shove all the basic components in a sealed/modified Vaio case and stick the Ps3 logo on it and voila, an instant massive increase in hardware sales.
...a truly beautiful and desirable Ps3 slim.
shiny black oozes class whereas dull black.....doesn't.
Although cleaning off dust and prints can become annoying now and then.
