I think you may have missed the part about this card not being a videocard, or in any way aimed at ATI or Nvidia's end of the market. This card is supposed to act as a secondary processor, and take alot of the brunt of video encoding/decoding.....ah what's the use, if you didnt read my first comment, you probably wont read my second one. Please do research before you compare two different hardware components in function.
Answering some of those who ask, why not a traditional videocard, and why only 128mb ram... First a traditional videocard has a different aim in mind, namely videogame graphics, with video co/dec being a secondary function to support, and the CPU is left to the encoding/decoding. Where as this card will be aimed at the video compression/decompression, encoding/decoding, with a secondary function, could possibly be improved physics calculations for making games(maya, softrender, etc.)and game ...
At least it unfreezes after apporoximately 2.5 seconds. They should release a patch pronto, for the bugs. How about when I go to complete the GNR mission, and the door to the building is locked? The best strategy (monetary anyways) is to sit a little spell, and wait for the dust to settle... On the PSP-3000, I must say that there are definitely some features, overlooked. Having used the X, triangle, square, and circle buttons as an extra d-pad for fps games via an adhesive thumbpad addon, I can say that this is quite viable, and I'm sure that the shoulder and/or bumper buttons are on the back. Having the second thumbstick replace the face buttons would also leave the door open for backwards compatibility, through hard emulation. It's a nic concept if implemented correctly, and not a far-cry with todays consumer technology.

While I agree that console software piracy is relatively low, right now, so was the PSP when it entered the picture...now look at it. The ability to successfully pirate software or intellectual property on a console or closed symmetrical platform(gamer built PC), is a small seeping hole in a huge dam(a few cases here and there of a leak or two), that is if it doesnt get patched(yes with a patch), eventually it becomes an unstoppable opened floodgate(unprofitable/unviabl e platform).
Maybe you chip mod, with Xecutor or whatever, but why go through the trouble, when you can play backups simply, by confirming your DVD drive brand, and model by simply opening the disc tray, comparing the placements, then download the firmware flash, burn it to a DVD and insert the DVD. Has anyone else noticed, that on the more graphically demanding games like Killzone:Liberation, Syphon Filter:Dark Mirror/Logan's Shadow, etc. that there appears to be dithering of the color on the screen?
