I love my switch but Nintendo really makes a crappy controller for it. Even the pro feels cheap and it costs $70!
I finally got my Switch last week after owning (and loving) my PS4 for years. I got it for all the Mario games, Zelda, Smash and Yoshi (for my 5 year old, who has played the hell out of the demo). It's a perfect second console.
I just got my Switch and, while I love it, I'm discovering that it really has crappy deals.
There was a "flying through the hoops" level on Donkey Kong 64 that had me about to put my controller through the TV.
Going to Forbes.com for game related news is almost as monumentally stupid as going to The Verge.
Dead Cells is a lot of fun, but it has been promoted by just about everyone. It definitely wasn't overlooked.
Biggest downfall was it didn't have split-screen multiplayer.
Subnautica is going to be their first free game! Very nice!
Don't forget GoG and Twitch.
It is a very good game, but it is a step down from "Rise". The combat in Shadow is much worse. Previously, the combat was stealth-oriented. Lara would sit in the treetops and snipe, or jump down on a lone sentry for a stealth kill. There is still some of that in Shadow but it is mostly Lara standing behind cover while waves of enemies rush her position. It feels more like playing Rambo than Tomb Raider. Fortunately, there isn't much combat. But that brings up the second big prob...

Eric Kain is one of the few rational games journalists. His articles are always a good read.
I'm an old guy that has been gaming for a long time and can honestly say I don't remember a time when then were so many good games, with so many discounts, available to play. PC, Xbox, PS4, whatever. It's a good time to be a gamer.
This review reads more like an advertisement. The forge is 'OK', but it's very short and not particularly satisfying.
The polarizing mechanic is the ability for players to be able to open up their gliders to move about the map as long as they are high enough off the ground.
Well they sure as hell didn't have them working on Battle for Azeroth!
"They just don't care about their sheep-like fanbase because those idiots will buy anything with Blizzard slapped on it."
Not the smartest argument considering all those "sheep" just had a revolt and showed the would NOT buy a mobile game just because it had Blizzard written on it.
I didn't even need to see which website this article linked to and I knew who wrote it. Good old polygon.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 still has a large following.
The books are only a chore to those who are used to 'fluff' and don't like challenging reading. In many ways it is a perfect match for FromSoftware's games. They both require effort, thought, and the ability to git gud. And in the end they are extremely rewarding.
