Don't think when people are criticizing combat,.. The combat is not the problem,..(it is actually very varied) but response times (momentum) of general movement feel slightly off,.. (even on Alternative) And 60 fps does not help much either,.. It just does not feel tight,.. You will noticed it instantly when going back from almost every other game made in the last 20 years,.. and it is annoying as hell,.. Always takes me few hours to adjust to it,.. But it always lingers there,.. if only...
Like every generation,.. Basically PlayStation dominates,..both quality and quantity,.. not far behind is Nitty,..
Xbox even has exclusives? That is news to me
Does not make it any better on higher difficulty,.. just shows how bad the basic movement system is,.. and everything suffers for it.
It is not the gameplay per se,.. But yes when the basic movement system is inherently broken, everything seams like shit (he has so much momentum it takes 2 seconds to stop moving even on alternative) Always need 2 hours to get used to it when I start playing ,.. and it is never really good ... Find it strange how apparently only one who seamed to notice how poorly this game really controls is Jeff from Giantbomb
@starchild,.. When is the last time you've played it,.. Playing it right now,.. and still feels like shit,..(alternative movement does not help much. Gerald has so much momentum in movement it is barely playable,.. it is the same on PC,.. and it is not that it is over-animated (we have plenty of better animated games/animation heavy ,.. like Uncharted 4 you mentioned,.. but in Uncharted it actually works) (In Witcher 3 it is just wrong),... Movement feels like shit altogether (like contro...
Well I think Uncharted 4 is a better game,.. As is Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne ,.. and probably Doom ,.. hell even Ratchet ,..
Game has amazing things (looks great, dialogs are great,.. Story is somewhat compelling, side quests are better than anything usually made for main quest in other games, lots of things to explore and interact with),.. but combat and movement systems barely work together. Hell if Dragon's Dogma and even Dragon's dogma Online don't have much ...
@thekhurg,.. Maybe people played too much Souls over the years ,.. and other games where combat does not suck and movement barely works in general,.. Witcher does lots of things right,.. lots of things are incredibly clunky(to the point you wonder what the fuck were they thinking,.. this shit barely works together,.. almost of not more clunky as Bethesta's RPGs in thidr person ,.. So yes this isn't very good company to keep in third person RPG)
I dont hate the last boss . Thought that the whole sequence is pretty well made,.. on crushing you can use and (probably need to) cheats though, slow down time,.. hell even on hard he is pretty fast and hard to read(think the exploding mummy part will be the most painful,.. People say walk slow works ,.. but I don't think so,.. you simply need to memorize where to jump ,.. see youtube vid)
Don't think it is overdrawn ,.. but the game as a whole is pretty damn long,.. especial...
@thekhurg
Witcher 3 is way harder ,.. because combat and movement barely works,... that is why,.. Good thing there are xp glitches working still so you can brute force it with over-leveling to insane amount
Looks great but very sterile
It is pretty awesome campaign (Playing it on hard ,.. just finished 8th mission,.. Doing it extra slow (hell even go back and replaying levels to clear challenges and upgrade runes etc,..) Sometimes it feels a bit Soulsy type of fun(I die a hell of a lot),.. (I mean I have to prepare and know what I'll do at specific wave or when I'll grab the power-up,.. because hard is kinda hard) Think I'll Platium this this week,.. Haven't had this much fun with a shooter since Serious Sa...
Agreed,.. It is balls to the walls awesome,.. Really glad they went Serious Sam with it. Map (level) design is also fantastic
Got it today,.. PS4 ,.. playing on hard,.. It is pretty kickass,..Really love that they went back to somewhat Serious Sam rout,.. It is fun and intense as all hell
Screw it,.. I saw some vids from giantbomb and that before you buy vid,.. and just went out and bought it,.. now it is downloading patch,.. Cannot wait
I think the Witcher 3 is the most overrated and clumsy game of all time. Combat systems barely work together with clumsy over-animated movement). Uncharted is not perfect, but fuck me if it isn't at least better than the Witcher 3,.. Bloodborne shits on it heavy,.. DKS3 shits on Witcher 3 as well.
Just Platinumed it,.. It is really great and that is that.
No,.. Ratchet looks great, but there are problems with some aliasing,.. Uncharted has non of that Basically has perfect image quality,.. Seam some custom Temporal AA or something,.. but image quality is on another level in Uncharted,.. (playing games about a meter away from 60 inch LED).-- Also Lighting engine is a generation better,.. Looking at ratchet as a whole,.. Yes it is really pretty, but sometimes still makes me wonder if PS3 could run it at much lower resolution.,.. since those PS3...
I actually think grabs look better than fucking with depth of field or CA /filters too much or zooming to unreasonable level
Some reasonable pricing goes a long way,...
Also It is good enough for me to Platinum it,.. and that is kinda rare
Don't know man,.. Used of games that stop responding when I am not actively inputting,.. Witcher is the only game where I feel disconnected,.. (just movement alone is float-y and imprecise like nothing I've played in years,.. Don't think even Witcher 2 felt this damn strange) ,.. Maybe I have been to harsh on it though,..and I finally platinum-ed it like 5 minutes ago (on PS4 this time),... Playing trough just for the cards for like a 4th time was a pain in the ass,.. (maybe that ...
