Regardless of what people think I still view each game for what it is and make my decisions from there, just like every other title.
EA has been around longer than anyone aside from Sega and Nintendo and are still one of the highest grossing publishers out there. It's always amusing to see how much hate they get yet most people continue to support them. As for closures and people leaving, that happens with every game publisher and 1st party studios.

You're right, it is an M rated game so that part is the parents fault. I would think anyone using this behavior online whether it be in the background or not should have their voice chat banned for this particular game only. Maybe start with a 7 day voice ban and if repeated a full month ban, to a third time offense a permanent voice ban.
In the future it will be about exclusive 'services' and then hardware will become redundant. When you can stream to multiple platforms, much like Playstation Now is doing on the PC, you can reach farther without the $400 barrier to get the hardware. Netflix/Spotify does not require you to buy hardware, it's just an app that you install and one day that is going to be at the gaming level.

The game has no campaign and is basically an online game now much like Destiny. That's why it makes sense to buy digital purely for convenience. Nothing stopping you from buying physical and trading in your game in a few months.

It's very easy to conclude now that money is involved that's it is no longer ethical but some of you are unwilling to accept gamer's habits have changed. How many people play God of War for 6 months or Detroit for 6 months? So what is your response going to be, what if I want to play them again later? You can get a ton of enjoyment playing Forza Horizon 4 for 1 month. Far less than it would to buy it. Then in 6 months you can try it out again for $10 and still keep your history with the title.
