It just isn't EVO without a big venue and crowd. So no, I don't think it will save EVO2020. However, it is nice to finally have a real spotlight on rollback netcode and I hope Japanese developers change their tune moving forward.

I'd argue they are thinking about the casual players more than the competitive players outside of balance patches. The gameplay in SFV speaks for itself.
The issue with making a bunch of new characters is possibly alienating fans that expect the tried and true characters. While I think SF3 is awesome, particularly Third Strike, they actually weren't very popular. And part of the reason was the ratio of new/returning characters. There was a dark age almost a decade ...

I don't think so. I feel like hacking is not nearly as big as people are making it out to be. I'm willing to bet people are just getting their asses handed to them and saying someone hacked as a quick excuse.

Crysis wasn't really about the gameplay. It was more so a glorified benchmark test for PCs when it originally released. Can your PC run Crysis? Good, now time to play other games.
360 had better analogs, bumpers, and triggers. DS3 had a better dpad and face buttons.
I guess the biggest difference here is the goal of Hatred is to murder where as GTA isn't all about killing sprees, Hotline Miami is too cute to be taken seriously, and COD isn't all about wiping out Russians. Best comparison is probably Dead by Daylight where 50% of the game is being a serial killer trying to kill survivors in gruesome ways and it is only rated M.

I think those days are long gone and the biggest culprit is party chat. People just prefer to have their own private parties with their friends.
Because RE2 got the treatment you would expect a remake to get. In fact, it set a new standard for remakes.
I actually do remember pretty well because RE3 is my favorite and I would not call it an action game just cause Nemesis chased you around sometimes. It was very much a survival horror just like RE2 except it had a bigger emphasis on puzzles.

I'd imagine a lot of people powered through the game only concerning themselves with gameplay, and if that is the case then I can see how someone might not consider it. But if you go into the game and really pay attention to what it has to offer it is easily GotG. The lore alone in that game absolutely dismantles every other game out there.
