Smokehouse owned you.
At this point I'd rather they just leave it alone entirely but if I had to chose I would go with a remaster. DeS/DS1/BB are the shining titles in the souls series and sequels just leave blemishes. DS2/DS3 being prime examples. Bad games? Not at all but not nearly as good as the first. Dark Souls should have been one and done.
Somewhat of a bummer.
I think I still have this game hiding somewhere in the house.
Cosmetics aren't that big of a deal but I strongly believe there should be an option to turn them off for those that don't want to see that silly stuff.
Probably worth more now than later. Years from now people will be emulating it no problem and it won't seem nearly as rare.
Looking good!
Yeah, game died to me when PvP servers failed to catch on and ultimately got axed.
PC Master Race era made you guys tuck your tails and turn to the exclusives argument. Don't pretend like graphics were never a selling point on consoles back in the day.
Going from 8bit to 16 bit to 3D was a VERY big deal. The only focal point? Obviously not but for people to pretend like graphics weren't a selling point is ridiculous.
Long time ago.
Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to go against opposing consoles. In Rocket League I can do that and rep my Sony roots at the same time. It is also a good thing for competitive gamers to have a bigger pool of players to go against for the sake of competition. Also takes longer for said games to fizzle out.
Loser.
In no particular order...
• Announcing VSkills as an entirely new mechanic for each character but actually removing special moves and re-adding them. **
• Close normal attacks do not exist which gives you way less options than previous SFs. **
• Announcing nostalgia costumes for Alex and Ibuki since S1 and releasing them 2 years later. *
• Not following their DLC roadmap and ended up cutting communication all together...
Graphics, while odd, did not bother me. DLC plans didn't really bother me as I usually find a character and play it til the end of the games lifespan never spending any money again. The tailoring to casuals is what really bothered me and ultimately turned me away. Variable input lag is also the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of and should never be in a fighting game.
SF did have an accessibility problem though, as basic as it is compared to something like Guilty Gear.
All SF games prior to SF4 (Even though SF4 had its fair share of advanced things) totally had an accessibility problem. I miss knowing my inputs were clean. And as much fun as I had with SF4, every time I revisited a classic I realized how sloppy I got.
"We are aware that most people will be playing this on either a d-pad or even the analogue sticks and that ...
The next one will be even worse and newcomers will start saying things like, "This one isn't as good as SFV!"
Also need to be aware that RIOT is working on a fighting game and it will be the most accessible fighting game ever if they don't want to alienate their fanbase. If it is successful expect Street Fighter to further its "dumbing down" approach.
In times like these I am super grateful for Tekken, Guilty Gear, Under Night, and SamSh...
I actually felt like we took a step back with the PS1 for lots of games compared to the 16 bit era. Sprite work was to be respected and lots of games still hold their charm to this very day. The polygon look of PS1 has made most games age terribly in terms of looks.
CvS2 is my #1
