My question is. Why is it necessary to overclock a 5ghz processor? What cant it handle when its stock?

Those indie developers that want to develop on consoles. Should just do it exclusively on PS4. If they did, then I guarantee you those stupid policies of Microsoft would go right out the window.

Lets be clear about something. The Wii U is flopping. Not Nintendo as a company. As a company Nintendo is more than fine. They will always have the hand held market. The only thing that might happen one day, is that they might stop making consoles and just focus on their hand held fanbase.
