I hope Hello Games and Sony go after the retailer that sold the copy. Usually, I don't care either way about a game leak but for some reason, for No Man's Sky, I want heads to roll.

Why should Hello Games charge $30? It sounds like you are saying they are not mainstream enough to charge full price. Nike can charge $120 for shoes but if I make a shoe of equal quality, I'm limited to only charging a fraction of what Nike is charging? Thank you for writing this piece. I don't suffer from the same illnesses but I have my own battles with chronic pain, migraines, fibromyalgia, and crps. I have a wonderful wife and kids that make the worst days seem amazing but it is those in between times that gaming saves my life. Yes, the entire game outside of a few assets and audio have been completely done in code. Nearly everything has been procedurally generated. "Has been" is the key phrase. Your ship and character is possibly the only items that are procedurally generated when you first log in, everything else has already been created by procedural generation and then saved in that state.

The always online was not explained properly. It was only to check to make sure the games were linked to the Xbox or the GT (forgot how it worked exactly), but it was only a ping once a day. If it didn't receive the signal back then you couldn't play your games until it had. The crappiest internet in the world would have been able to handle that.

The main reason why I have not picked up a VR headset other than my gear vr is the games. They all seem like proof of concept games but the big hang up I have is first person games. They are the reason I really want vr and the movement system in them seems so crappy. That teleport mechanic seems so lazy and analog stick movement seems too confined.

Good analogy for Until Dawn and you make a good point. If you don't like Quantic dream there is a high chance you won't like Until Dawn. But I do think that Until Dawn is a better version of those games.

Also, I have a feeling that Sony and MS may be heading towards a tick tock rotation. Similar to how Intel used to release CPUs. However, not just within its own company but with the opposition as well. Sony releases the PS4, 3 years later MS releases XB2, 3 years later PS5, 3 years later XB3, and so on.
