Combining NPD, and Numbers from VGChartz (I know), here is what I came up with for worldwide sales:
Xbox 360: 10,550,299
Sony Ps3: 9,907,786
For a difference of 642,513 or 6%
Good numbers for both systems. Anyone who says these numbers aren't good for the ps3 are delusional. If anything, the Xbox 360 should have done better considering the price cut.
USA Year over year numbers:
2007 Xbox 360: 4,600,000
2008 Xbox 360:...

Keep in mind there are still 2 more nominees to go, of which will probably be MGS4 and LBP, although IGN spoke very highly of R2.
I personally think this story should be submitted on Friday after all the nominees are revealed, however there will be a sweet irony when a ps3 exclusive takes home GOTY 08.

that's what I got out of uxo22's comments, and it makes sense, this being a 360 article he can play to the 360 fanboys' hatred of MGS4 by saying what he did, without actually mentioning "MGS4"

I don't mean to flame you man, but you are getting awfully defensive about this.
Gears 2 is a great game and MGS4 is a great game. But they are different. If you prefer the cover/shoot/kill style of Gears over the stealth/sneak/kill that's cool. But why get down on a ps3 game because you feel someone is getting down on a 360 game, that's kinda fanboyish IMHO.
I doubt Nathan has a 360 but I could be wrong.

i was thinking about how Microsoft has been boasting about the 8 million sales lead, so I did a little math:
8 out of 28 million is about 28%, and we know that the RROD is right around that percentage.
Could it be that Microsoft's entire lead is based on their rabid userbase buying second consoles when their first one failed? I mean, look at the software numbers. These people buy everything and anything that MS puts out. They even buy games that flop...Too Human come...
