if Halo 3 had an installation, you wouldn't be saying a thing right now.
here's the link showing the cutscenes...30 fps for 360, 60 fps for ps3
http://dot50cal.the-horror....
this was discussed at eurogamer and gamersyde
you are so wrong on almost every level.
the ps3 and 360 have the same amount of memory, the difference is the 360 has 512 unified (for cpu/gpu) and the ps3 is split (cell to xDR =256, rsx to gddr3 =256). both setups can produce the same level of graphics, it just depends on what system the devs used for lead development. you could say the 360 can use better textures for smaller, less cpu/physics intense games. but the more physics/cpu/ai the ps3 will be able to handle with th...
i'm partial to Sony this generation, but this affects gamers as a whole. if M rated games are going to be likened to illegal drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and controlled in such a manner, it affects all of us.
this is a win for Fox News, Jack Thompson, and anyone else for regulation of video games and content. i understand the bias and need to rub it in to the other fanboys, but this is where i draw my line in the sand.
wow...reading the comments section at kotaku, gamers are becoming little internet b1tch cryers. everyone is complaining about these installs that improve loading times/gameplay, and i don't see the big deal.
they are probably all 360 owners whos console is out for repair and they wanna find something to crybaby about
EA gimps ps3 multiplatform games cause "they can't do it"
if anyone reads the article, this guys says something about Fill Rate, the ps3 not being able to do the physics, but it can, you just have to work at it.
So, again, EA is saying they don't want to work at ps3 development because it's new to them and they've been deving on the 360 for 2 years.
Please vote with your wallets, do not buy EA games until they embrace ps3 development and really...
you must not have read the article at joystiq where every game reviewer had their 360 red-ring on them?
or the latest ms insider who gave information about the RROD and microsofts poor QA and testing?
or the consumerist posts about the 360 and every single commentor stating how their xbox 360 died multiple times?
since it didn't happen to you (yet) then it must not exist? riiiiiight
maybe you can do a little reading? there are several news stories on this site with the actual worldwide numbers.
Sony sold 8.8 million ps3's worldwide in 07
Microsoft sold 7.7 million 360's in 07
There are also numbers at vgchartz.com if you want more proof.
And i think you meant the 360 is a flop in japan, getting outsold by the Gamecube
but really? you know you don't own a ps3, yet you comment about resistance not having good multiplayer and resistance 2 won't be any better?
seriously, if you are happy with your 360, great. but why write an essay on why not to buy a ps3? are you really that worried about being last this gen?
btw: wi and ps3 both sold more in 07 than 360...ouch
you wished you owned a ps3. just by what you say, i know you do not.
i, on the other hand, own both consoles, and i'm on my 2nd 360. they won't be covered under warranty forever.
zhuk has always seemed anti ps3 to me. his comment surprises no one.
if you own a 360, all you can think about is what will happen in the future cause you have a 90% chance that your console will die. in 10 years there won't be one 360 that still works. think about that.
they did the math, if you add up all the features of the ps3 like blu-ray, wifi, online, hard drive, etc, it will cost you $750 to buy a 360 with all the same features.
the ps3 can only drop in price, while now ms has to offer a blu-ray addon and pay sony, or keep supporting a dead format. ms has painted themselves into a corner with all the bad hardware, gimped skus, and overpriced accessories that their only choice now is to offer a new console in 3 years for $800.
Microsoft creating perceived "demand" by limiting supply? that's unheard of...
They should have been replacing any RROD console with an elite all along.
here is a quote from the gamepro article:
"Like any good Blu-ray player, our PS3 was used to watch a handful of high-definition movies in addition to games. But due to the lack of an auto-off feature like the Wii and 360, Sixaxis lasted a meager 18 hours and 41 minutes; the first controller to die on us."
So, in their tests, they left the controller ON while watching movies, because the controller doesn't shut off by itself. Is this an accurate test? Becaus...
according to your math that would happen in just over a year...
as of right now, the ps3 has to outsell the 360 by 134,615 consoles a week to catch up in 12 months.
not impossible, but highly unlikely in 12 months. the ps3 would have to outsell the 360 by 67,307 consoles a week to pass it in 24 months.
that is more likely to happen once NA is saturated with 360 and the rest of the world continues to not buy them.
VGchatz were really accurate for the biggest month of sales (december)
, so i think they will get it fairly close for january as well.
a $400 console outselling a $279 console week after week has to be unsettling, huh POG?
for the purpose of video comparisons, RGB turned to FULL makes for a closer comparison to a 360, period.
for people saying to calibrate your tv, if I calibrate my tv to look best with my ps3, it makes my 360 look way to dark when i switch my source to it. i only have 1 custom profile on my hdtv to play with. so for me, its much easier to have my 360 and ps3 both looking good by simply turning RGB to FULL.
some people are making this way too complicated. i have ca...
here is an article from 3/2007 that states this:
http://www.firingsquad.com/...
"» SCi/Eidos Will Limit PS3 Games Until 2008
UK game publisher SCi (who publishes until the Eidos name) has released their interim financial numbers for the first half of their fiscal year (which ended Dec. 31 2006). In their results, SCi stated that while they believe Sony...

"The PlayStation 3 has a lot of power. When we started Uncharted we were really ambitious and had no idea what the PS3 would give us. Once we got the first devkits, we realized quickly that we could do everything we had planned to. The three main points for me are the Cell, Blu-Ray and the hard drive. We’ve been using the Cell for pretty much all our systems: rendering, particles, physics simulation, collision detection, animation, AI, decompression, water s...
