Shooters don't necessarily need to be the most beautiful games...Halo 3 has good graphics, but what makes Halo 3 great is the smooth gameplay and great online multiplayer.
As long as Haze can stand up to Halo 3 graphically, and doesn't have framerate problems and still maintains a decent multiplayer experience without teleporting, etc, i think it will be worth a purchase.

i didn't invent anything. my original statement is accurate, however i didn't realize the rsx could access the cell without using the xdr ram.

you are right. i got confused by the redundant bus back to xdr. so the cell communicates directly with rsx, but the point i was trying to make is still relevant (i think)...yeah the xdr is fast BUT the bus from cell to rsx is much slower than cell to xdr....hope that makes sense and sorry for the confusion.

that's nice, but sort of misleading. let me disclaim first that i am a ps3 fan, and i've done alot of research into the ps3 architecture. yes, the xdr ram is fast, however the gpu also has to access this ram on a slower bus. here's how the ps3 flows:
cell -> xdr <-> rsx -> ddr -> output
im not saying the ps3 is any less powerful, but the rsx bus to xdr is about 15.6Gb/s slower than the cell to xdr. the cell does have a back door bus to rsx to make up f...
i just played thru the first 10 minutes on my 360 because i couldn't remember either, and i saw 1 loading screen for barely a second...so unless there are worse loading times later on in the game i don't see what would be gained from an install.
i still stand by my original statement however; seems like thats the only way people can bash the ps3 is by complaining about 5gb of space on the standard hard drive.
my origial xbox had a big hard drive in it, cause thats where all my games were stored =)
sinner is right, only 11% of 360 games are first person shooters...but those 11% of fps games count for well over 50% of all game revenue for the 360.
but the point remains, more 360 owners buy fps games than any other game genre. this includes gears of war, which could be classified as 3rd person or 1st person depending on if you are in combat or not.
