If the Wii was 1rst against PS3 and 360,would that not mean the Wii U is in this current gen against the PS4 and X1? People seem to act as though the Wii U doesn't exist or in its own generation and say NX will be in this generation instead. My point is this generation consists of PS4, X1 and Wii U, NX therefore must be the first entry in the 9th generation of consoles.

X1 cannot use Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, not at all in any way, shape or form. X1 can be streamed to a PC that has Oculus Rift hooked up and you can run the X1 in theater mode in Oculus Rift for a giant flat screen to play on. PSVR has theater mode for video and PS4 games too, as well as VR games, all without the need of a PC.

Is it beneficial to PS4 if games are held back to ensure parody between PS4 and X1 titles to ensure one side has no advantages such as higher resolution/ framerates? FFXI had PS3, 360 and PC players playing alongside each other. Sony had no issues with it whereas M$ tried to insist only PC and 360 should share servers. M$ conceded in order to get other FF games on xbox. Square Enix offered the same setup for FFXIV which M$ refused bc they still didn't want on the same servers as PlayStation. My grips have no issues, ever. I've known about this (thought it was common knowledge) yet I have zero interest in doing it. In fact I believe the reason M$ won't allow cross platform MP with X1 and PS4 is so nobody calls the DS4 superior because PlayStation players would rule the majority of the leader boards.
I have both those games and never hear my PS4.
