Additions to the single player should not be added through DLC. Years from now when the DLC servers are down you may want to play the game again, and you can do so without the DLC, but if you need to redownload something, and the servers are down, then your screwed.

Now, the exception is what this is, multilayer based DLC. Because if the multilayer based DLC ever goes unhosted, then the online servers are likely off line too, and the game can no longer be played online anyways,...

Thats the most promising thing I've heard about this game yet. "Hard" implies depth.

Take note of something that has been demonstrated in the field of programming: As each new generation programming language is released, things get easier, faster, and more streamlined. Problem is, each new generation is less and less powerful, or rather, less flexible.

LBP isn't the first game to have a level editor. Many games have had them, especially on PC. Some a...

They probably released the game because it was "good enough." I suppose they could have taken some time to test the game on every hardware configuration, but had they done that the game would have had a lack luster launch come 2035 when they finished the testing.

Developers run into problems with one consoles being just a little different. How much more difficult do you think it would be to debug a program that will be running on literally millions of different hardwa...

What has he said that is false. He said "They want us to charge money for them, because that is in their model."

What does "them" refer to? Updates? Them can't possibly refer to this singular and specific update. Valve has said nothing specific.

Most people don't care because it's being done on the mythical internet.

However, if similar policies were adopted in the real world ever couple of months the feds would bust in with flash bangs and assault riffles and then search your house just to see if anything illegal might have been going on. Would people look away then?

"Music, movies and game downloads over peer to peer or file share should be banned and anyone caught doing so should be held accountable for their actions."

They are banned. Well, as banned as possible, they are illegal, and anyone who wants to put up the time and money can enforce that law. It takes time to have a trial, so they can't get everyone obviously. The alternative is they could bust into your house one day and haul you off to jail for 20 years, end of stor...

It's quite legal to buy used games. In fact, systems that deny your from reselling your game are borderline illegal. Systems like Steam or Live or PSN where you buy direct and cannot resell your purchase deny the free market from doing what it does best; that is, giving great products at low prices.

With nearly everything, like a car, you have the legal right to resell what you have purchased when you want at a price you want.

Linux wont play my PC games. As mentioned above, I have both Ubuntu and Vista on this laptop. I use Ubuntu for desktop applications, and Vista for gaming. Go read above about how 1 gig is sufficient for many games on Vista (not the latest games mind you).

Also, I like that fact that Vista starts up faster than Ubuntu does. On this laptop anyways.

And it usually fills up about 700 to 800 megs of ram. But the thing is, when I fire up Sins of a Solar Empire the game itself takes up 800 megs, and Vista runs it without problem. When it comes time to game, suddenly Vista and its processes are taking up less than 200 megs of ram.

It obviously takes a few seconds to alt tab back and fourth because it has to use a swap file, but while in game there is no hard drive trashing (access) and the game runs smooth.

Now, 1 ...

I know the video where they battle the big guys that was shown at E3 - well, here's the story there:

The demonstrator ended up almost dying and had to run into an area of the map they hadn't polished. They admited it looked terribly bland (I think a couch they passed didn't even have a texture, lol), and indicated that we can expect, obviously, much much more in the final release.

Resistance wont have the BEST graphics ever seen, but that wont mean it's not fun....

The no image rule does really suck. I'm really afraid that the creative abilities in this game will be nothing more than rearanging the parts the compose the single player.

Only way I'm paying more than 30 for this game is if there is an in game music creator, and the ability to use any image in your levels. Or, a in game image editor a la paint would be acceptible.

I do hope it does well and wins GOTY though, because it is a good idea. I'm just hoping someone...

I thought the same thing.

This concept isn't exactly a concept; it's been done already. Just another console gamer thinking consoles are on the cutting edge...

When fighting that big guy, it did seem quite scripted to me. However, I understand the developer demonstration almost died and ended up improvising and going through an unpolished area (which did look noticeably bland) to stay alive.

Hopefully there is some freedom in that battle, as scripted fights are no fun. Resistance 1 was quite linear, but it wasn't scripted quite so much.

On the bright side, I'm sure most of the game play will not be scripted so strictly, b...

I've heard there is a in-game music mixer (unconfirmed AFAIK, don't take it seriously), but an in-game image editor would be awesome as well, something like MS paint- only, hopefully more inovative and useful.

Then people could create textures who wanted to (it may take some considerable work) and people could create any art they wanted, and the imporation of copyrighted material would be drastically reduced as someone would have to take the time to draw it out.

Wouldn't be supprised if they charge for DLC in this game. They've already indicated there will be DLC.

Also, a Little Big Halo isn't likely as you can't include custom images in the game. I could take a picture of them with the PSEYE I guess, but then it would be Little Resolution Big Washed Out Halo, because of the low resolution and loss of image quality.

I love this game, I will buy it, and I'm excited for the concept they are introducing, but I have a fear...

The olympics are about humans, and human physical achivements.

If gaming were to become an Olympic sport, to keep the human element in place they would probably just zoom the camera in on the persons hands, and you could watch him move the 360 joystick back and forth while pushing a few buttons. Riviting!

Thing is, I was hoping to be able to whip up some textures and original works and upload them in full color and resolution. Instead, I'll have to point the damn camera at my monitor (I do have a PSEYE), and end up with a low resolution washed out replication of what I've worked on. Lame!

This will not stop people from using copyrighted images, and will not stop people from using inapropriate images. (Picture of d*ck, as has been pointed out.) What it will do is allow Sony t...

Is it possible to allow users to us JPEG's from their HDD as stickers? Of course it's possible. Infact, I'm still holding out some hope that it will be in there, as I love this game idea, and want the best for LBP.

However, I'm skeptical about some things. First, I think the level of creativity will be limited. ESPECIALLY if we can't use our own pictures. Are you a big fan or Resistance? How many Resistance themed "stickers" do you think will be in the game? Ma...

I actually just beat this part tonight. It only took about 10 tries. I just found a good balence of aggression and defence and managed to finish it fairly quickly without any cheats or exploits. I even managed to kill 2 of the people with my fists. Ohh, and it was on crushing difficulty.

Bubble for the advice though, I always hated that part. The AI in uncharted can be quite challenging some times.
