Agreed. I constantly system link and LAN with friends; online gaming is greatly useful, but nothing will ever beat getting a bunch of friends over and having a good time in the same room.

Coming from someone who only plays occasional RTSs, they CAN work on consoles. It just has to be done right.

Console RTS games are targeted at me: the player who has no hotkeys and works rather slowly :D

It really is interesting how it was incorporated into the story and game, whereas most of the American monuments in Fallout 3 were empty buildings with no purpose.

Indeed they did. I have feeling this may be their one-hit-wonder though, ha. Don't expect this good streak to continue. They're still Obsidian :P

The difference between these events and things like E3 is the restriction of industry versus public. E3 is a trade event involving only industry, and this particular occasion is a blend of both.

E3 revolves around special appointments you make with devs and the like, whereas these revolve around what you get to first.

I have to disagree with you on that note, sir. They didn't intentionally use the Taliban to get attention. They simply set out to make a game based on realistic times, and people freaked out, causing the 'controversy' to exist in the first place.

Although the author was a tad harsh in some aspects, valid points were made.

The second-opinion segment was nice addition to the review, also, providing a bit of contrasting opinions.

But XboxOZ360! When in doubt, add zombies! It's such a flawless tactic!

That really does seem to be the issue here, gaminoz. The game is essentially more of the same.

I find it ironic that this is coming hot off the heels of Japanese/Eastern developers saying they make better games than Western devs.

Sometimes, the changing is to suit a new style, as the author said. But others, it's essentially for "giggles," one could say.

I agree with the new Cole being great, and the new Sam. I think the changed Max Payne fits, because it's been such a long time in the real world between games, so it is almost as if he really has been aging through this time; he obviously needs to fit the part.

I encourage innovation and new ideas, but in all honesty, anyone outside of the Big Three attempting to make a console of sorts will most likely fail. But as Oz stated, it's aimed toward the East. We'll just have to wait and see if it works.

After all of this unnecessary media storm over it to begin with, I'm not surprised they gave in.

If you guys and gals recall the article a few weeks ago about the debunking of this controversy, the author said that renaming them made no difference but to the media. It's the same here. Hopefully no one will care now.

It really is something that you need to experience, for words cannot sway the image it portrays.

That's the kicker, mate: you never know who is friend or foe!

Thanks a lot!

It is quite an interesting take on the multiplayer experience. Unique and innovative are definitely the terms to be used here; I've never seen anything quite like it.

It takes me back to the old days of Splinter Cell's Spies versus Mercs...

I didn't see these comments, but the Supreme Court case is happening soon. It can be weeks or even months before we find out, due to the way the system works.

And truly, it's sad when someone becomes the "face" of the company. That's why developers such as Rockstar don't really get big in the media, because the person they send out becomes the "face" of them and people attribute that one person to the success and whatnot, when in reality, t...

Sadly, this is just reflective of society in general. You can never truly say anything at ease.

When writing this, I imagined him seeing this article and laughing before sending a cease and desist order.

Also, you two's previously iterated statements are correct. He does, in fact, make you want to punch him in the face just by glancing at him.

Did he say RDM?

Based on the logic of the media, it's different because the people who fought are dead.

Because that makes perfect sense, because it's obviously so correct.
