Why would Destructoid assign someone who hates any related genre of Fire Emblem review the game?
"6. Backwards Compatibility
New models of the PS3 have dropped this option completely. In contrast, the range of Xbox 1 titles that will run on the 360 continues to increase. Microsoft has even announced the availability of hit Xbox 1 games as paid downloads over Xbox Live Arcade. Now those who missed out on cult hits like Psychonauts on the last console generation have a second chance."
Out of the three systems, the 360 has the LEAST backwards compatab...
720p is okay, but it seems like the way to get the most out of the machine is to buy a 1080p, even though they're generally around $400 more.
I'm in the same boat as you MK_Red, except that I have no PS2. When Sony keeps announcing new cool features for the PS3 and continual price-drops, it just makes me want to wait longer. And that's not really a bad thing for them, because eventually they'll get my money regardless.
My bigger problem is that I have a pretty new SD tv (I got a brand new 32" for $200 in August, and since I was definitely in bargain-hunter mode). I don't think it's worth getting a PS3 unless ...
MK_Red: I've definitely noticed all that about you before - that you hate the console, but not many of the games. And I can feel for you with some of it (though you probably see me defend the Wii on a regular basis). I absolutely love that Nintendo went out there and tried to be innovative with the motion sensing and control design. That took a lot of balls. And yeah, they upgraded the graphics to a point just past the original Xbox...but they could've done so much more. They're making a...
GOTY is a stupid concept. How can you objectively compare all the various genres of games? How do you compare Rock Band to Mario Galaxy to Mass Effect to Bioshock to Uncharted? You can't. So just enjoy all the great games out there and stfu.
he's not the only one...
"there is no buffy the vampire slayer on wii thats on xbox"
WHAT!? I can't stop laughing at you.
Here's my list of things the Sony is doing right with the PS3 (in no particular order):
1. Blu-ray player included
2. Looking towards the future
3. Willing to make major price drops
4. Quality parts and build of the machine (no RROD for example)
5. Experimenting with various gameplay aspects ("hardcore games", playstation eye, little big planet)
6. Free online gameplay
I paid $250 for my Wii a year ago. I don't regret it, and if put in the same position I'd do it again...but I wouldn't spend $251.
The video game industry hasn't pissed me off enough yet to warrant my obtaining illegal copies of games. The music industry on the other hand...
How can they list Six-axis controller? It may work well in future games, but so far I haven't seen anyone say it's a reason to own a PS3. Same thing with "not rushing out major franchises" - that sounds like an excuse for the PS3 having only a couple great games out in its first year. A lot of this list is more like "10 Things the PS3 Will Have Done Well By the End of 2008".
@below: I agree with everything you've said. To me, six-axis is pretty much an ...
If I want to exercise I'll go for a run, bikeride, or to the gym. Where's WiiEat so I can cook hamburgers without turning off my Wii as well. As DarkArcani said above, the only future use I see for this is maybe for snowboarding.
Out of that list I own:
Zack and Wiki
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Trauma Center
Resident Evil 4
Zelda: Twilight Princess
and I rented Super Paper Mario and beat it
Plenty of awesomely fun games on the Wii if you're not a close-minded """"" "hardcore""" ;""" gamer. Six quotations because you're not really a hardcore gamer if you can't admit that the Wii has...
This is exactly why things like the Playstation Eye and Wii Motion Sensing are so important to console gaming. They create gameplay that can't be made on a PC system. The third part of console gaming that is yet to be implemented on a PC is split-screen multiplayer. Or even one screen for a few games. Party games will never work on a PC (You Don't Know Jack was kind of fun though). Besides that, any console game could be ported onto a PC without losing a step. Of course, how many people...
Clinton isn't a liberal. Neither was Leiberman, which is why he left the democratic party.
I'm a liberal and I think an M rating is just fine...and it's a sh*t game anyway! And Hillary can suck on ma balls.
Also, the article says that the movement was put together by Hillary, Leiberman, and Brownback - a democrat, independent, and republican. How does that show it's the liberals trying to f**k over gaming?
That makes 750,000 in it's first week in the US and Japan combined. Those are great numbers! If Wii owners don't buy any games, I wonder who bought 3/4 of a million copies of Mario Galaxy.
"GI: Say little Timmy gets a 360 on Christmas morning and he fires it up and gets the red ring of death. Are you setting up anything in place over the holiday season to make sure that anybody who gets a defective 360 this holiday will get fast turnaround?"
What Jeff Bell said:
"Bell: We’re fully committed—and have been from day one—to expedite all transportation as well as repair and return of every unit."
What Jeff Bell should've been ...
"CONS
Vehicle cannot be customized
Minor technical hitches"
Even if you list one con, how can a game get a perfect score? A perfect score means it's perfect and has absolutely no negative points. At least that's how the thinking goes on in my head. I can't think of a game in existence that I would give 100/100. (Rating a scale of 1-10 or 1-5 is stupid in the first place)
A game of pick-up football with my friends is always more fun than a game of Madden - no contest!
But it would take years to be able to play some of the songs in GH or Rock Band on a real guitar - compared to days or weeks in the video games.
