Maybe they are hoping people won't want to wait, and will end up double dipping on the game.
Also because it takes place in gotham city, with a lot of his villains and gadgets.
Reminds me of killzone 2, syndicate, heck even tintin on iphone used it.
Diablo 2 servers are still carrying on by blizzard and they said they have no plans to shut those down. So I think its safe to say that diablo 3 servers will be on for at minimum another 10 years. And look at diablo 2, they released a drm free patch, so I'm pretty sure in about 5 years time there will be a choice to have an offline mode (by choice I mean you will choose to never use the auction house).
Ye apparently PC sold 1.1 million on PC alone last year, this year there would be a lot more due to the enhanced edition. One good think is that the witcher sells well over a period of time (especially with these sale) as the first one sold over 400,000 copies last year (5 years later).
"No the game is connected to the online network but you can choose to play the game solo meaning no one can join and you can opt to not join anyone else either."
That still means its online only, as a lot of the assets are taken from blizzards servers as you play, thats why theres no offline crack.
Looks promising from gameplay videos and previews. Just remember this is a different team so you must look at this with fresh eyes.
Due to there being a movie they probably thought people would buy it based on that (movie was rotten as well). If there was a true crime movie coming out now, then this game would still be with Activision. They only care about the bottom line.
Yes it is, in the interview he says it's because of Dx11 (tessellation etc...), 4 times the resolution of console textures and uncompressed audio.
They also warn you when you are about to be dominated, I was running up a side path and my one pawn said we were out matched, and of course I didn't listen. Ended up being dominated lets just say from now on I know to heed their warnings.
They had to because the game apparently was not running well enough when in fullscreen, thats saying something because my game chugs along as it is when theres lots of onscreen action.
I am really enjoying the game though, probably one of my best games this year in fact (for now).
"devastated when Activision dropped this"
I think he means when it was uncertain that the game would still be made because Activision dropped it. Not that he is sad it left their team.
Glad this wasn't canned and got saved, I really hope it sells well to teach Activision a lesson and to keep the studio running.
"My gaming PC is pretty decent. i5, GTX 560Ti, 8gb ram, 1TB HDD. "
thats weird I have the exact same setup and yet I don't have any issues like that. And I have 360/PS3 to compare it to. I agree with Asgaro theres something strange with your setup then.
? Isn't this one also coming to PC with dx11 etc...
IGN gave it 7.5
Activision changed it to true crime because thats an established franchise and they can get more money, in the past it was going to be a new franchise so this is just going back to how the developers wanted it thanks to square enix.
I will personally be happy if it is just a fun game, as I am not expecting huge critical success (obviously hope its commercially profitable). To me it seems like it might be like the sabateur not that great in scores but still was a blast and und...
"Yep but both Lan and Mods can cause hacking/modifications and piracy issues.
They would've done it in an ideal world but not in 2012"
So what your saying is that all PC games from now on should throw lan and mods out of the window because it's 2012?
"...they have considered everything about pc gaming within the game EXCEPT MODS AND LAN."-fixed
Plus I am sure because there is no pirate version it sold quite a bit, as many people I know who would normally pirate games couldn't wait for an offline version ended up buying. Im talking about people who have terabytes of games. You can probably count on both hands the original games they have.
If the witcher 2 was made on console first then the extra missions that came with would have been paid for just like this dark souls DLC. This has to do with PC being an open platform (thats why it is free) and consoles being closed.
"All DLC for the PC version is and will remain free," Badowski emphasized. "That's not likely to be the story for the Xbox version, because of certain Microsoft policies that need to be followed. But on PC, once you buy our ga...
