The PS3 could be classed as already using cloud computing. You know, with remote play.
The PS3 is the cloud, the PSP connects to it - the PS3 does all the work (running the games, software etc).
I've been using the windows 7 beta for my everyday OS since it came out, it is great - runs very quickly, not run into any issues as of it and everything seems a bit more streamlined.
This takes up just over a quarter of my system's resources that vista did while idling.
All i want for the next one is a streaming world, the load screens in every town were terrible.
That is an impressive number
Starfox 64 remake for PSN! You know how much Q games love the PSN with their pixel junk games ;)
Halo 3.. i never got the hype with the series. I thought the campaign was very average - however, i can see the greatness in the multiplayer, i can see how it impacted and changed the industry, you can see all these games that come out now that have a little bit of halo in them.
infamous, it isn't the PS3 owners fault - it is sonys fault for not advertising their games. I knew so many people the week before the release of killzone 2 that didn't even know what killzone 2 was!
While i was playing fable 2 i was actually thinking to myself that it would be pretty good to have this as an MMO.
I'd LOVE a fable mmo.
It isn't unpopular for a PS3 exclusive title.
Can't wait for LBP portable.. i may actually buy myself a PSP 3000 - i have the original model from launch, didn't use it much after the first few months and the last time i used it was for God of war.
Great, great system - great games, just i don't like taking such things around with me so i always feel like i'm wasting my time with it.
Yeah, everyone in japan has 3 PS2's - yet that has been keeping up with the 360's sales and even beating them weekly since the 360 came out in japan..
No excuses :p
Why are they comparing a handheld to a home console in terms of sales? :\
I actually never read the article and i wasn't replying to the article itself. I was replying to some of the comments on here :p
Yes, we know that - but sony created their whole playstation business different.
For example, sony have no problem and have done on all their consoles at launch with loosing money on the actual hardware, nintendo has profited day one on every system they sell.
No difference between being infront of the competition and making more profit?
So sony could give PS3's away for $50, they would be loosing so much money just to get infront? No - any company would rather make money than risk making none and running themself into dept just to get a bigger market share.
The cell processor takes around £2 - £3 to make, sure the R&D burned a big £3 billion in their pocket but actually making the chip for the PS3's doesn't cost much at all.
It is the blu-ray drive and i'd say the cooling system is quite costly too, that thing is huge.
Sony at the moment is not aiming to beat anyone in numbers, their #1 priority is to make profit.
The asian market though isn't the smallest, they use the japanese numbers to represent the rest of the asian market since for some reasons it is hard to get solid stats from most other places in asia.
Hence the reasons microsoft have been trying so hard in japan, they wouldn't be trying if it was JUST for japan.
Who cares? The fact is, even if it can be run on the xbox 360 - it won't be ;)
Phantom says hi - i know it isn't the same, but it still a device that relies on the internet 100%.
