God of war did quick time events really well, its the only game i've overlooked them on.

MGS4 sold 3 million in two weeks, quicker than gears - but Metal gear is a huge franchise with a dedicated fanbase even if the older metal gears were classed as a niche game.

Play magazine.. gave it an excellent preview. They had nothing negative to say about.

I'd say killzone 2 is an amazing tribute to hardcore gaming in this now casual gaming world. The multiplayer gives consoles that "hardcore" feeling i have only ever really got from PC shooters like.

The class and badge system takes what tf2 had, improves it and adds much more to it, including depth and customization.

Sony would never announce a price cut so early, look at the last price cut. Kaz said that there would be no price cut that year, a few days later he went and announced one.

Microsoft even denied their price cut this year a month or so before it, you don't announce a price cut publically, it'll hurt sales.

Because i'm a PS3 owner i'll be able to get it, and i'm not talking about PC.

But MGS4 sold the most everywhere else in the first day.

Microsoft won't say anything till the last minute, the PS3 is still slightly living on future promise, it has great games now - but they are games that the general public don't know about and the whole "PS3 has no games" thing is still going around.

So yeah, while sony have to announce things well in advance microsoft can afford to, at this point hold back on things.

But the playstation 2 was a great platform, regardless of sales. That is what i'm talking about, the first and second party games, the third party support, the advertisement etc.

I'm not talking about competition or sales, just the platform itself and how sony handled it.

It'll blow over for a while soon enough, when the PS3 was beating the 360 for a few months after its price cut by pretty large numbers (For the price of it) everyone was screaming doom for the 360.

Now the 360 gets some really nice numbers, everyone jumps back on the doom train for the PS3.

I can see this happening for the rest of this gen, just a constant switch over between the PS3 and 360. People fail to look at the bigger picture with these things.

How silly of me, trying to reason with one of you clowns.

Yes, the hardware may be flawed but you have to give microsoft credit for their effort in the system software department and live.

Sony, in my opinion are underestimating the importance of the online portion of gaming, it isn't so big in japan but it is pretty much a necessity here in the west.

I'm not saying the PSN is bad, because it isn't - it is great for a free service, amazing infact. But the 360 offers a seemless experience that works very well.

You were never around for the PS1 and PS2 era? I mean come on, you know sony are capable of pulling off great things, there will be few gamers that would disagree.

Some of you may think they have messed up with the PS3 and i think many PS3 owners will agree they did mess it up, it could of been so much more from the get-go. It should be more than what it is now in the online portion, it should be doing better than it is.

The online side of things, in my opinion is t...

WipEout HD

Yes.. a game that requires quite a bit of skill. Stick your own music in there, have the game engine put all its crazy-ass context sensitive effects on your music, go into zone mode and GO GO GO.

It isn't supposed to be a run and gun game, not like CoD. They want to encourage you to all play your part in your squads all with different classes, think about what you want to do.

I did too change the control scheme because it feels more natural to me now, but the toggle aiming is one thing that takes a match or two to get used too but after using it you see why it is there, like i said above, it is supposed to be a team tatical game, not run and gun.

Gaming never reached the masses because of the controls and general difficulty of games, the wii has very simple, forgiving controls and the games are very easy.

People are not longer scared of getting into gaming because of the wii's "simple-ness".

1) Bill gates never "owned" microsoft, he was a co-_founder_.
2) Bill gates has left Microsoft to give his billions away to charity.

"ms *could* buy anyone"

No they couldn't. I wish everyone would stop thinking microsoft are the richest company in the world, because they're not.

Was at a certain part on a map, it doesn't matter what was going on there, there could be only 1 person on the server and it still happened when i ran past it so it was obviously just a glitch.

But other than that, no - the framerate stayed solid, or at least a certain mark where i didn't notice the drop.

I'm not saying the game will be rubbish, infact what i played on the beta - i really can't wait for it. I'm just telling him to do what i do, expect all games are rubbish till you play them.
