@DC: I wasn't aware, thanks for clarifying... seems like a missed opportunity to me - voice commands would be great for VR.
Roach wants her tail back.
@Software: Yeah, but Scorpio will - with all of Microsoft's talk about backward/foward compatability I figured it was the obvious choice... it's not as though the standard XO controllers won't be compatible with Scorpio, and with Cortana being added it seems as though Kinect still has a future - albiet a different one to what was originally envisioned.
Wouldn't Kinect be the camera they use for VR? It's capable of Head/hand tracking, as well as voice-commands.
Assuming cross-play actually happens, then yes and no - internet speeds will still be a factor, plus a skilled player will win 9 times out of 10... that said, there will be instances where things like draw-distance and fps will matter.
I say screw the weaklings - videogames are art, which shouldn't be hampered by anything, least of all technological restrictions or the poor... I hope Microsoft takes a survival-of-the-fittest apprach and 'forces' as many people a...
60fps@4K
SCORPIO... at least learn the name of the thing you aim to criticise.
@Opie: Very well said - what I wouldn't give to bubble you up... yes, I know how creepy that sounds.
Scorpio is designed for hardcore gamers - people who buy and play lots of games and who want the best performance, without the hassle or expense of a PC... My LCDTV is 6 years old and I've been thinking of upgrading for a while, but haven't had a good reason to go 4K - now I've got a great reason, and Scorpio's release window gives me ample time to save u...
I'm fine with that... it's not as though a scaled-down XO version would be possible - even if it had enough power for +60fps, there's no VR headsets to play it on.
If Microsoft are willing to sell Scorpio at a loss (which would be smart - it's built for hardcore gamers, who tend to buy lots of games, which in-turn recoups money lost), then I'd bet on Scorpio selling quite well - in which case, I'll start begging for an end to the current-gen... I'...
I'm hardly the only person with this opinion... at least 4 articles saying the exact same thing as me have popped up on N4G since I made this statement.
Click disagree, if it helps.
I know I'm not the only person who mistook that 'm' for an 'n'... well played Japan, well played.
Damn you Nintendo... I will buy your new console, but I won't like it!
Here's hoping that was the Wii U version, cos the frame-rate is literally the only thing I can criticize... everything else looks amazing - the aesthetics, Hyrule's interactivity, Link's various outfits, all of it.
Ah... Well, here's hoping EA are content with the extra $$$ they make with it being a multiplat.
A man can dream.
whoops... wrong spot.
That's not what I said.
Liar... Sony WILL be landslide.
What, Knack 2? MEGATONNNNE!!!
Right?
Up until the point Kratos showed his face, I was thinking "Damn, Aloy was an ugly kid."... God of Babysitting, more like... the hunting/rpg stuff looks Horizon-ey too.
Days Gone looks like The Last of Us with bikers, whilst Horizon looks like The Last of Us with robots... gameplay-wise a bike and a robotic deer aren't much different - guns and bows aren't either.
Give ME a ...
Yeah, I actually enjoyed Ubisoft's show... solid bunch of games delivered with almost none of the cringeworthiness of their prior conferences.
I just didn't have the courage to say it.
Don't act like you don't know what I mean... YOU KNOW.
It looks like God of Babysitting... I actually thought I was watching a Horizon trailer, thinking "Damn, aloy was an ugly kid", until Kratos showed his face.
It's almost as though these studios played The Last of Us and said "let's make our version of that" - Horizon's got the overgrown apocalypse, GoW has the kid (and the camera), whilst Days Gone basically looks like TLou with Bikers... Microsoft and Nintendo are often criticised for lackin...
