Is this pc only?
I’m playing on ps5, and although the game has many points where it looks very nice, there are still occasions when it looks pretty rough I’d say. I’ve not suffered too many graphical glitches and bugs (only 1 t pose) in the 10 hours I’ve played it today. 3 crashes though, thankfully the auto save kicks in frequently and I’ve not had to replay much.

I’ve got an old external hard drive that was plugged into my PS4, I just plugged it into my ps5 and it’s worked perfectly.
I’ve been following the news of problems and honestly it sounds like a bit of a lottery. It’s a fact that in the early day of a new generation the yields in manufacturing aren’t amazing, theres always a few defective machines that slip through the cracks.
I really hope everyone’s new consoles work out for them though, it’s so excited...
Other than being appalled at the inability to upgrade my PS4 Spider-Man to the remastered version without buying the 69.99 version of miles morales (got the 49.99 just miles morales one in the end, a wild price for an expansion) I’ve had little problems. Miles morales I’ve found to be a bit buggy.
Was a bit sad there was no quick resume feature like on the Xbox but quickly realised there’s no need for it at all, the quick loading from the cards on the dashboard is so so so...

In the new digital foundry vid about dirt 5 they’ve got an early preview version of their own and they mention load times, unfortunately they’re very vague and just say “things are looking very good”

There must be some serious technical reason for these not to work. There are like... 10 games stopping them from claiming full backwards compatibility with the Ps4. I’m very curious to know what it is. There are worse games out there so it’s not just that they’re shit. Shadow complex is great!
If the dual sense is a real hit a people go crazy for the triggers, I can imagine Microsoft adopting something similar at some point and it become an industry standard, just like the analogue sticks and rumble before it.

In regards to apex announcement-
They haven’t said anything about apex on ps5 or series x yet, we’re all assuming we’ll be able to play it backwards compat day 1 but we don’t know for sure. I’m really hoping they’ve got a day 1 next gen update in the works (like with fortnite). It looks quite a bit better on the pc.
The fact they’re pushing all this cross platform stuff at the mo before next gen launches gives me hope. Playing mu...
I’d be too worried about it getting spoiled, and it’s easily my most anticipated game for some time. I really hope they announce a patch for last of us 2 because I’d be keen to go through that again.
And I’m still waiting for that apex legends announcement, hopefully it’ll be close to the pc version.

Gutted I’ll of finished it by the time the proper next gen patch is released, hopefully it coincides with some dlc or something. Or even better, hopefully I love it so much I’ll want another play through.
At this point I think we all know we’re buying the ps5 for the games, if your just looking for a 4k60/120 machine then you should get the series x, those third parties will no doubt hit the mark more frequently.
We’ll see 4k60 on ps5 but not as frequently, at least not at the beginning.
I think dirt 5 is still listed as having a 120 mode on ps5 as well. Im sure there are others also

Anyone notice how different all the lighting is though? Result of ray tracing? Couldn’t say for sure I think it looks better than the original in this particular scenario myself

I was wondering when I’d hear this said again for this new generation. Same spiel each time. He may be right? I don’t know. There’s nothing I’m too excited by at this point.
I’ll just be picking up a copy of cyberpunk with my ps5, which is ridiculous.
On ps5 it’s far from perfect but stable enough that the game can shine through still. I’m really enjoying it
