Let's just wait for a reliable source to give out these kind of statements.
Well I can already poke one hole in these figures as Nintendo already announced that smash bros sold 490k in its first couple of days on sale. Then again, this is vgchartz we're talking about, so you can always guarantee atleast a few wild inaccuracies (Nevermind the Xbone bias).
There's a reason you're freelance dude. Don't quit your day job.
Vgchartz eh? I'd take this with a ladle of salt.
Nintendo would shut shop before they went third party. Besides that, staying on a console of their own making ensures the quality of their games, and also means increased profit per unit sold as there are no licensing fees or shares to pay out to other party's.
In other words, keep on wishing as it's never going to happen.
Did you really just list Assassins Creed Unity? Not the best example of what a big AAA budget can get you these days, nevermind the extortionate micro-transactions.
I was looking forward to the Wii U release, but after all of the delays and Ubsofts recent dickery, I can't wait to see how hard it fails. I'll probably end up picking it up pre-owned somewhere down the line, but there's no way I'm paying full price.
Ooof, right in the childhood...
I have Zero interest in Ubisoft these days, which funnily enough is the same level of attention that EA and Activision get out of me. I wonder why...
I'm sorry but Reggie is awesome. At the smash tournament at E3 he threatened to kick a guys ass live on stage in front of thousands of people.
No doubt it's already in the pipeline to some extent.
Mario Galaxy was easily my least favourite of the lot. The levels, though made to feel like you were travelling a vast expanse, were just linear paths. You pick a star, you go to the stage, you follow the set path and you get the star. Not like 64 or sunshine where you could come at the star however you liked, and for me that greatly took away from the game.
When is this series going to die!?
DmC was trash, and as a result should never be the point of reference as to whether or not a game "stacks up" to it.
It's the internet and website like this that are killing gaming magazines. Why pay for your gaming news & reviews when you can get them online for free? That said, I know I'll be picking up the last issue, I've been a reader of theirs for a long time!
@jetlian
As far as branding goes, yes there are a lot, but branding doesn't make a game. Mario Kart, Mario Party and Mario Strikers etc are all COMPLETELY different games, which is why they weren't included in my count. Assassins Creed games all have the same formula gameplay-wise except for minor changes.
17 mario games in just shy of 30 years. 8 Assassins Creed games in just shy of 7 years. There are too many assassins creed games.
I was waiting for the Wii U version as I was looking forward to the gamepad functionality. If this game just gets gimped after such a massive delay, I'm done with Ubisoft. All they are is an Assasins Creed machine these days anyway.
Well that sucks. I'd be all over a Wii U version, but handhelds just aren't my bag.
I gotta get me that Dedede... I NEED IT!
