I semi-agree.
RE4 has never been a Resident Evil game to me. The game is phenomenal, but almost none of the game even closely resembles what RE was up to that point in time.
If you switched out the pre-existing characters (Leon, Ada and Wesker who is barely seen) for new original characters, and changed the games title, nobody would have ever thought "oh this is like reaident evil", because it just isn't.
What RE4 needs is a reimag...

RE2 is only longer because of the A/B scenario's, and for the most part you're getting an identical experience. RE3 is going to get its length from the multiple choice scenarios that you get from time to time.
E.g:
Fight nemesis or run into the police station.
Climb down the hatch in the restaurant or hide in the back.
Jump out of the window of the newspaper place or hide.
Jump out of the window ...

Leon's campaign in 6 is better than all of RE5. Every other aspect of that game is trash though.
That said, who cares at this point.
RE is back on track after we diverted away from what series is actually supposed to be with RE4 onwards. Couldn't be happier as a RE fan right now.

By that logic, the switch would be failing now. The power gap between the boneX & switch and the PS4 Pro & switch is already plenty wide if that was going to be the difference maker. The switch is flourishing.
