This game has zero chances of failing. Everyone thought Titanfall was the most hyped game, but Destiny now takes the cake. And at least Titanfall scored 8's and 9's consistently. So far I've seen 2 reviews, both 6's. I haven't seen sales numbers but this game is #1 selling game for both Xbox and PS on Amazon right now. I'm hoping for improvements on future installments.
Personally I feel Titanfall was a solid 8/9. Multiplayer only, but it was new and different. No other game really did the things Titanfall did. I've always been a proponent of no single player because I love MP and think that's where a game can really last. Titanfall in general was well received and got mostly 8,9, or 10's. Destiny so far isn't cracking that barrier. You cannot review Titanfall poorly because it doesnt have a single player. Titanfall is a MP game and should be...
Sorry but I kind of agree with the review. I think this game is more along the lines of a 7 than a 6, but its not the 9 or 10 everyone was thinking it would be and not what Bungie claimed it to be.
In terms of re playability, I'm not sure how long it will take for someone to get tired of doing the same task 100 times. One of my biggest complaints is the enemy spawn locations. It's the same every time. I know I can wait in 1 area and fight a couple monsters. Or if I ru...
^ I like a challenge
All I am saying is I was able to kill/beat the level because the AI and the bosses were not tough, just took a lot of damage. Level 5 shouldn't be able to beat that. If you play Diablo, you will get crushed and basically do nothing and your gear will break over and over.
I don't even care so much about the story. I'd rather is be a giant open world area instead of linear. You find little caves or garages and theres nothing in it. Feels almost pointless finding these areas. No real reward for exploration. Would be nice to have more armor customization. There are really only a handful of gun designs. Last night I got the choice of 4 guns....all 4 looked identical but one was automatic, one was semi automatic, one was burst fire, and one had a bigger mag...
The fact that you can die and not be penalized is annoying. I did a firefight last night and died probably 50 times because we were level 5 against level 8 enemies and bosses. We just took turns dying until we killed it. Took forever but was beyond boring. The spider boss just turns and shoots. So many spots to hide.
A friend and I did a Firefight last night, just the two of us at level 5 on hard with level 8 enemies. We basically just sat and shot at the spider boss thing for close to an hour just taking turns dying and doing 15 damage per shot. Was not fun at all as the boss is essentially stupid since you can find spots to shoot it and it doesnt care. Then fought the sphere thing and that took another 30 minutes. And got rewarded with absolute junk.
I am really happy I bought Diablo 3 ...
Well said!
The game is good, but that's it. 7-8 out of 10 I think is respectable for this game. It's not mind blowing, doesnt do anything that's new or different. FPS with RPG elements and co-op gameplay with a MP mode that's not that great (crucible). Halo was known for an awesome story and incredible MP. I don't think Destiny does either one amazingly. It does both good/ok. Short story, limited character level, not much gun variety, classes are too simil...
I played the BETA and played the actual game now for about 3 hours. Although I am not bored in anyway, I'm not anxiously waiting to play it again. Certain games you play, go to bed, go to work or wherever and just can't wait to get home and play some more, this game just isn't doing it for me. Is it good? Yes. Is it the best game ever? No. I can't see myself playing this game into 2015. I feel like it's Borderlands but with nicer graphics. The variety of guns is disappoint...
Because one system always has to out perform the other. It can never be "both games look and play great." Always has to be a winner/loser. Why? So fanboys have something to claim and feel good about. It's pretty stupid.
@SilentNegotiator
What are you, 12? "teh soni fanboi hypocrizyz!" You realize how immature and stupid you look when you type something like that?
@Evilsnuggle
There's a reason why you only have one bubble. You can be a PS Fanboy without coming across as one.
"Just enjoy inferior version of the multi platform game and x1 exclusives games/early access to DLC."
That basically says it all. Basically saying the X1 is only good for exclusives or early DLC. I don't like the Playstation, but I know that multi platform games should look better on the PS4 because it's more ...
This game is so over hyped that if it doesnt get 8's and 9's, everyone claims the article is click bait or the author is a moron. Is the game good? Yes. Is it the greatest game ever? Not even close. It's Borderlands, but prettier. Nothing revolutionary about, nothing that makes you go "holy cow, that's next gen." I'll get ton's of disagrees just because it's not a positive Destiny post.
Who honestly cares? What a useless poll that proves nothing really. I think every Xbox owner could have told you it will sell better on Playstation and that more people would prefer is on PS because #1, more PS sales, and #2, a lot of people hate MS. So pretty easy to see which people would prefer.
Because it's American...
LOL jk, but who knows. Personally I don't care.
@SoapShoes
Halo was truly a next gen game. Enemies were smart, the multiplayer (although local) was amazing, the introduction of all the vehicles, the epic story, and graphics (at the time) were excellent. Was it a FPS? Yea, but so was the original Doom and a host of other games but you wouldn't compare them to Halo.
@Battlefieldlover
I played the BETA, it was fun but not mind blowing.
"If you didn't like it, fine, but wh...
I'm buying it cause it will be fun, but I don't think the hype is justified. It's a FPS with RPG elements, co-op ability, and a loot system....so basically Borderlands but not a cartoon setting.
Personally the multiplayer I thought was horrible. Everyone driving around in vehicles, using virtually the same weapons, just felt like an afterthought.
@Patrick
Excellent response! Thank you for proving yourself to be a fanboy/troll. Also awesome was your ability to spell "Forza"
You would put Paul George as one of the top 5 players in the NBA?
D-Wade was a 90+ about 4-5 years ago. He cannot stay healthy and isn't dropping 30 points a night.
D-Rose? Seriously? The guy has been injured 2 straight years and if you watched the FIBA NBA right now he can barely score 10 points.
Spurs players - Duncan is more like an 88, Parker about an 85, and Leonard is around 85. They don't have 1 superstar, but multiple stars. ...
Personally I think the game is more of a 3.5, closer to 3 than 4. On a 1-10 scale, I'd say a 7.
