"...we all grew to loathe in Destiny."
I have to assume "we all" means you and the voices in your head since there are plenty of people who still play a lot of Destiny PvE.
Every game is repetitive. Every. Game. Ever.
@Unspoken - You started off ok, but then threw in the towel with that comment.
OT - Never thought it would.
Sure but this game shouldn't have the Clancy name attached to it. I love it and so far would give it at least a 9 for a score, but his name is simply there for marketing purposes imo. There are waaay too many unrealistic elements for this to be a Clancy game, but (again imo) the Clancy series has been going that route for a long time. They stopped being real "Clancy" games for me a long time ago, though I still enjoyed some of the actual games. The name used to stand for games t...
I feel the opposite. I'm loving the shooting but the writing, particularly the way certain side characters act, leaves something to be desired. I'm talking specifically about the characters who talk to you over the radio, the dispatcher types which seem to be different in every zone. There's a motherly one, an overly sarcastic one, a new age guy, an actor who thinks his acting roles qualify him to be an agent, and most recently for me a guy with a southern accent. I guess the writ...
Yeah all I needed was the score to make me not the read the actual review. I agree that the Clancy name shouldn't have been used but I'm loving the game itself. My score after 15 hours or so is more like a 9, or maybe even a bit higher. I only have one real problem with the game and it has nothing to do with gameplay.
I actually agree that the Tom Clancy name shouldn't have been used for this game. There are too many unrealistic elements and I think his name is there for marketing purposes more than anything else, but I strongly disagree that the game deserves that low of a score. Oh well it's not the first review that made me shake my head and it won't be the last.
A game like this doesn't need clans imo. As it is there will be groups of 8 friends in party chat rolling around the Dark Zone killing people, and you want the ability for more people to group up and coordinate? Insane.
"...everyone's upset."
Nah it's just the usual few suspects. They've been hating on the game for months and now it's doing well so it's time for them to insult people who like it. They're a predictable bunch.
I love the game. My only complaint about it is some of the "dispatcher" characters are annoying. One is a "mother" type. One is always being sarcastic about the player possibly dying. One is a "n...
You're so predictable.
You insult people with a differing opinion then can't take it when someone points it out.
Funny stuff.
The only way I'd go for an upgradeable console is if the cost over 5 years was less than simply buying new fixed hardware every 5 years. Call me a cynic but I don't see that happening. Playing the same game at lower settings because I didn't buy the newest upgrade is one reason why I prefer consoles over PC gaming, so I truly hope consoles don't go that route.
As if indies are bad…
smh @ this type of "gamer".
No Man's Sky is the most intriguing to me, followed by Wild. What Wild is doing as a game is much more comprehensible imo, though I want to play it very badly also. Dreams also looks cool but out of these 3 it would be last, no question (for me).
"Anyone who is surprised by this needs a reality check."
True, but not for the reasons you say. There are always people doing this with new games. It says nothing about either the quality of the game or how long the average player will take to max out themselves.
I'm all about full disclosure.
I have two level 7 characters after playing from about 2am until about 7pm with about 4 hours sleep and maybe a one hour break for food and uhhh… getting rid of old food. >.>
"It's like Watch Dogs all over again."
I bought Watch Dogs cheap and stopped playing a few hours in.
I started playing The Division at about 2am, played until about 4am, slept until about 8am, got up and played all day until stopping for dinner, and now I'm about to play some more. I find your comparison hilarious, but I do acknowledge that no game is for everyone. For me The Division is indeed a great game. First Gold edition I've ever ...
"Ubisoft still lying to consumers"
The only way that makes sense is if the game was never shown in it's current form until launch. There was an open beta, but beyond that we've known what the game looks like for, what, at least a year?
"like a Borg-like threat, a large scale war or new multiplayer modes"
I feel like the people asking for things like that aren't who this game is aimed at in the first place.
"The game does seen rather empty, the mechanics in place look like they can keep you busy, but not exactly entertained"
Disagree completely.
"Cry more"
Irony more
"And that is his fault personally??"
It's certainly not the game's fault.
