There already was a downgrade this E3, I think that's why they went back a year and used the vertical slice.
Yeah ND is a great developer, but a lot of people seem to give them too much credit and name all their games GOTY even before they are released or we even know much about them. Most of the people that made ND great aren't even there anymore (not that they don't have any great people anymore or anything).
Just let ND be another great developer instead of overhyping them beyond reality.
Both look fantastic and I have both pre-ordered already. RotTR has the slight nod here, but they both look amazing. That being said, the more I hear about both, I think I'll prefer RotTR's gameplay more. Savaging, more stealth, more tombs, upgrading weapons and clothes etc, a day and night cycle that affects gameplay, and hunting. Both games are in my top 10 must have games.

E3 was June 16-18...meaning the BC announcement wasn't till then, so more than half the month, that announcement didn't even exist. Not that one announcement like that would sway sales that much. Also BC isn't even a thing past preview until fall...so all the people pretending they are shocked ...

...that's staying power!!! 11 games in (assuming you are correct) and Halo 5 looks to be the best of them all.
Halo 5 will no doubt do great things, and to me it looks like it's shaping up to be the best Halo ever...still beating those 24 hour numbers for H4 will be tough...when Halo 4 came out, 360 had an install base of probably 75-80 million....right now X1 is probably closer to 13-14 Million. Halo 5 will get there, but I'm not holding my breath on the 24 hr record.
Back when this game (and part 2) came out, it was a rather groundbreaking game. I loved the first and second one, but I was ROYALLY let down by the ending of the second (partly because it's been so long since it ended). Honestly, I think this game waited to long to be done again. Now there is nothing about the game that is "special" (if it follows the same trend) and no one cares about the story any more and/or have no idea what the story is. If I have time, I'll grab it...
